We have one of the 2.5lb bags of Dunkin Donuts coffee from Sam's Club that we drink almost everyday and that is some really great coffee! Sure, it is not Kopi Luwak or a special Kona roast but dangit anyway Dunkin Donuts is some of the best bulk coffee you can buy!

Four passes = BBS! I Love My Injector and if I could only have one razor for the rest of my life it would be the Injector.

On another note; there are a lot of folks posting about how they are getting multiple shaves out of one blade, sometimes as many as 9 shaves (9 is my favorite number BTW, plus it is a magic number) out of one blade. I have found however that if I try and shave more than twice with the same blade that I pay dearly with skin and burn. The good news is that wet shaving with SE or DE blades is super cheap, so I think that I am becoming a one blade per shave guy...am I alone?

Danny, Bill hit the same video I was going to about the hand stropping. I get an extra two or three shaves out of a blade by doing it after every shave. Some folks believe it doesn't do a thing. Others, while they believe it may help, figure blades are cheap enough to just toss rather than spend an extra 15-20 seconds a day to get an extra couple of days out of a blade.

As for the Featherweight, again Bill hit it for being a milder razor. Although I can't compare it to a G-Bar, I do own a couple of MM OCs and an MM Clog Pruf. The Featherweight is milder than those, but still, as you're well aware, by virtue of being an SE, it's still more aggressive than most DEs.

As for the coffee, sounds cool to me. I'll send you a PM and we can set something up.

Much thanks, Bill. I don't mind at all. As you can see, we think pretty much alike... aside from the coffee :eatdrink013 . Gotta have my caffeine, but I'm not a soda drinker except for the occasional IBC root beer, and that is caffeine free.

As for the 'stache, grow one! They're free!! :D

Me too, only then there would be a problem in selecting which Injector.

Would that be me?:D 9 shaves on my current Schick injector blade, and I intend to use it again tomorrow. No irritation.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I've rarely come across a DE blade so bad that I couldn't get at least two shaves out of it, four from an SE, at least six from an injector. I'd do what you do if it were necessary to avoid irritation, but that would get a little expensive with injector blades.

    Sunday - My Birthday Shave

Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade, soak Red Neck Scuttle
Coffee: Home roasted Costa Rica Tarrazu, hot & black
    Soap: TSD Wild Rose
    Brush: Vulfix 406, The Burlington
    Razor: Gem MM Clog Pruf
Blade: Gem, day 2, 3+ passes
    Str8 Practice: 5/8 Genco, 1 pass
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Humphreys Maravilla Lotion, Curve
    'Stache Wax: Wacky Tacky

Shave Rating: 5 Blades - just might be the best present I could give myself!

The scuttle was interesting. A bit deeper and narrower than the bowls I'm used to lathering in. It performed better than I thought it would. I guess I was expecting more water to soak through the pot. That wasn't a problem at all. I think I was also expecting the lather to be warmer than it was. It definitely warmer than not using a scuttle, but just not sure if putting up with the size of the bowl is a good trade-off for warm lather. I'll use it a few more times before I give it a stamp of approval. I'll also have to make sure I try it during the colder months of Fall and Winter. If I do decide the warmer lather is worth it, this $5 experiment may justify the purchase of a proper scuttle. I would have hated to spend $50+ on a scuttle only to discover warm lather is not really a big deal to me.

As it is my birthday (48, for the curious), I'm going to be ordering a strop from Vintage Blades and sending out three str8s to Glen "gssixgun" to be honed. I have two Bokers going out and one yet to be determined. Can't wait!

Schick blade hits the big 1 - 0

Couldn't resist pushing this blade to 10 shaves, and it came through. Still smooth and irritation free, but couldn't get quite as close on the difficult spots on my neck. Time to move on to something else tomorow.

    Razor: Merkur 23C
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
    Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum & Sweet Orange
A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Pre de Provence Balm

An equally good shave this morning, but much smoother with the Astra Superior than with the Astra Keramik used yesterday. However, I think I've been spoiled by the Iridium blades, which are the smoothest blades I've encountered yet. The Astras are as smooth as silk when used in my Futur, though.
