Not bad.

 

Tried some new things today....Picked up some new Derby Extras...First 2 blades out the pack scarcely had any printing on them...I remember whenever I got a Derb with faint printing it was like a factory second...And the printing on these was the worse I've seen...So I thought I'd pass.. the 3rd blade had great printing so I loaded it in my Gillette Senator and it tried to take my face off !! I couldn't believe it...I believe these are counterfeit Derbys....Worse blades of all time...can't be real Derb's...I've gotten too many great shaves from Derby Extras...So either their quality Control is non-existant...or there are Counterfeit Derbs in the market-place...Be on the look out....And I bought 5 packs I don't even know if I want to test further...Even if I just throw them away....at least they were cheap...I mean Perma-Sharp Supers are always great....Not to mention the Schick is a quarantied 'Good-Time'...lol

So I switched to my Schick Injector after a 1/2 pass with the sub-standard Derb...and proceeded to get a GREAT SHAVE...

Also tried the new flavor Arko Shave Cream...Ice Mint...At last Arko's got a Cold SC !! Not Alaska or Siberian Cold but you can feel it....I liked it!

My Chubby behaved, though I'm still tempted to get a 2 band down the line for a little more backbone. Also discovered that my Astrale needs a touchup since it was tugging a bit - and you can very quickly find a pimple on your face once a straight razor severs the whole top right off LOL.

 

New Forest Brushes have some nice 2 band brushes and they are reasonably priced.

 

Where did you get your blades from? Evil-bay I would think?

 

Well they do seem to have much better pricing than Thater brushes, that's for sure!

Very basic and casual 3 pass (wtg, xtg, atg) for a DFS+/BBS- shave. Nothing fancy, but I'm quite content.

 

I am sorry. I never dreamed of shaving with a Futur either. But it is pure heaven. True BBS with every shave and I am going on my 7th shave with a Gillette Black. I never go past 4-5 shaves.

Hot shower using the luxury of Amber Bath bar soap.
The Semogue boar was due up today Soap choice today was Yuzu by Honeybee soap. I continued with the Schick Adjustable dialed into #4. it must move along it's tour. Outstanding lather today, I had a wonderful two pass DFS. Finishing touches RazoRock alum, Krampert's accdain. Everyone have a great weekend

Living in the Futur

I just finished a late nite shower and shave. I decided to kick the Futur up to three and was treated to a beautiful three pass BBS shave. I am just loving this razor. I think I am going to back off to 2.5, and stay there for my next few shaves.

It’s a beautiful morning here in Singapore with very pleasant weather.
Before heading off to an excellent and copious outside breakfast with my wife, I enjoyed today’s shave ritual with the following ingredients:

Calani ‘Country Home’ artisanal soap for the face wash
Musgo Real pre shave oil

Mühle Basic Nr. 02 Shave Brush with Silver Tip Fibre
Feather AS-D1 razor
Feather blade (2.)
D.R. Harris Arlington after shave

My skin still felt a bit ‘raw’ and sensitive from yesterday’s shave (the one with the burning sensation and the not performing ASP…) so last night after a shower I applied some of Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel, which worked quite well, the skin felt much better. This morning, after today’s shave, there is still a slight sensation of soreness but noticeably less so than yesterday. The mild Feather AS and the shave oil were good decisions this morning, I gather…
