    Good morning.

    Sunday’s hotel shave:

1st Pass: Mama Bear’s ‘Ye Olde Barbershoppe’ Shave Soap
2nd Pass: Calani Cadre Noir Shave Soap stick
Mühle Travel Shave Brush in Nickel with Silver Tip Fibre
’60 British Gillette Flare Tip Rocket
    BIC Chrome Platinum blade (new)
    Speick Men after shave

Am a wee bit disappointed by the shave, it was not as enjoyable as I hoped it would be. I lathered up with Mama Bear’s for the first pass but I quickly noticed that burning sensation felt last time when using this soap was not, as hoped, due to external factors but in fact due to one or the other ingredient as it happened again this morning. I remember a similar sensation with most of the shave soaps from Fitjar which I tried a while back. I can only assume that my skin does not tolerate one or more of the ingredients. Shame, really as it means that I will not use this soap anymore.
Therefore, I thoroughly rinsed after the 1st pass and lathered up with Calani’s Cadre Noir for the second pass.

Back to work for me for a short while and then I’ll take my wife for lunch. It is Mother’s Day here and my wife joined me at work which brightens up the day considerably.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Sunday ahead!

Yes congrats on the Progress purchase. You will love it. It is a heavy razor, just let it do the work. I'm glad I could be of assistance with spending your retirement funds :p.

    Saturday 12th May
    Hot shower and facial scrub
    3P Pre/Post cream
Merkur Bakelite loaded with a SuperMax SS
    Vulfix 404 Badger/Boar
    Palmolive Classic (Moroccan) Cream
Alum Block followed by a few drops of Re-Gen oil
    Scent from Heaven Vanilla EDT

I didn't have time to post this yesterday. I had to travel to Coventry to spend some quality time with my son. This was a maintenance shave. The Moroccan Palmolive is excellent stuff...in fact I prefer the scent to the European version. It is less soapy, with perhaps a hint of spice????

(sorry about the crappy pic. Let's say I was a bit moved... ;))

First shave with a Gem OCMM with a Gem blade (had tried once with a utility blade from the local hardware store - no success story there). I knew I had to be careful as a OCMM is reputed by some to be agressive. Had a few small weepers which closed before the next pass. Really enjoyed the shave. The weight and balance of the razor are very comfortable. It feels solid, but not too heavy. As my skin feels a bit burn-ish after the shave, I guess I'll have to make sure I have an extra good prep & lather when using this razor.

But hey, I'm not complaining as I was rewarded a BBS! :happy093:

Have a great sunday & to all Mom's out there: happy Mother's Day! :rah::lyrtuy5: :rah::lyrtuy5::rah:

    Sunday:
    Soak Brush/Shavemac custom 167 D01 2 band
    Warm Schwarzweisskeramik XL Scuttle
    Hot Shower
    TSD ISZ Preshave balm
    Musgo Real Glyce Lime Oil
    TSD 2x Iced Mojito ss
    Joris 1912T/Astra Sp (2)
    Cold Water Rinse
Monster Block Alum (clean hardware and software, police area)
    Cold Water Rinse
Thayer's Medicated Superhazel followed a few minutes later with TSD 2x Iced Mojito splash followed 20 minutes later with TSD Aftershave Milk Sensitive

I like using a lil WH just when my face starts to feel a lil tight with the Alum then I follow it up with the splash of the day.The R41 did such a good job on my face yesterday that I just did a 2 pass with the Joris and a one pass for my head.I probably could have skipped a shave today but where's the fun in that?

Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love029: :love029: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing:
    Pe Re Ja Cologne

What a shave, what a shave, what a shave - this new brush I have is awesome. It really whipped the Derbylux cream into rich, fragrant, cooling lather. My Super Speed/Rapira combination cleaned me up so well, and the Aqua Velva added a good menthol bonus. The Pe Re Ja cologne is very refreshing and enjoyable. ;) :D

I notice you listen to Petra sometimes. Ever heard Captured In Time And Space? That's their live album from '85. Petra was actually an INCREDIBLE live band. When I was a kid I had it on cassette tape, and I played it until it was so worn out it wouldn't play. I took the cassette apart, unrolled and rerolled the whole tape, put it back together, and listened to it more. It got to where you could actually see through the tape, it was so worn out. Finally it broke and couldn't be spliced anymore. I couldn't find another one until years later, where I found a copy on CD where the concert had been cut down to fit on one disc (all the songs are there but they cut some of the talking in between). If you can track down a copy I highly recommend it. I have a pretty sizable music collection, and a lot of live albums, and I still have to say it's one of my favorite live albums ever.

Thanks Todd! Got the Progress last night and will give it a try this morning (haven't shaved yet but, I will as soon as I get some Coffee into the bloodstream! LOL
Yep, I'll be the best shaven homeless guy under the freeway overpass with this baby. I also have to blame Moz68 as well for my financial ruin; after reading his posts I was curious as to what a Fatip was. After looking it up and seeing a pic of the Fatip Grande I fell in love again! (what can I say; I'm a push-over!) Needless to say, my Fatip Grande is being shipped as I write this. Resistance IS Futile! LOL
