My Dad and I were born on the same day same time opposite years 1951 and 1915.I've found my birth razor but so far I've had no luck finding my dad's.The closest I've come is a Gem 1912,now I know there were razors made in 1915 I just haven't found one yet.I may have to settle for a straight even tho it's hard for me to shave with them because of arthritis.

    Vintage Week, Monday:

    Hot Towel
    Burt's Bees SC as pre-shave
    Hot towel again
    Vintage Old Spice Shaving soap
    Every-Ready 100T Boar brush

Hot water / Cold water rinse

No Menthol Monday. Decided to go with the vintage week. It was nice to get the Vintage Old Spice shaving soap out. It still lathers great with the ol' Every-Ready brush. What a delightful shave this morning:D

Pre-shave: TSD ISZ Pre-shave balm, hot shower
    Cream: RazoRock Boston Tea Party
    Brush: Simpsons Colonel Xl2
Razor: (This is one for the books) Campbell straight, Koken New Charmer straight, and Merkur Sledgehammer
    Blade: Gillette Black Ninja
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel

This shave was actually last night at about 11:00, but I'm calling it today's shave. I had a bit of time so I thought I would give my Campbell straight a go. After my first try at honing, last week I found that the straight could have been sharper, so yesterday I attempted to touch it up to get it a bit sharper. It didn't work. :( It actually took a couple of steps backward and was tugging pretty bad. Ok, put that down and lets try the Koken. Hmmmm, that one was almost as bad and I haven't even touched that razor to the hones. "Well crap!" so much for using the straights for that shave. I picked up my Sledgehammer and proceeded to have a marvelous 3-pass DFS. Have a great day everyone!

    Soap/Cream: GFT Rose SC
Post: 5Savages AS (witch hazel, rum, Tabac cologne)
    AS: GFT Coral Skin Food
    BBS!

This was one phenomenal shave! just a minor bit of leftover stubble here and there. The IK left my face incredibly clean...almost squeaky clean. I would have thought that this would have made the razor skip more, but I didn't even feel the blade.

In spite of the results, I'm not crazy about the GFT Rose or the Coral Skin Food. This shave finished up my GFT Rose sample tub, but I have plenty of the skin food left in the sample bottle.

Now that I feel I have my Semogue broken in, or close to it, I'm going to alternate between it and the Vulfix. Right now the Semogue is poised to take over as my favorite brush, but I'll reserve judgement until after I get through these cream samples.

Tonight I switch to T&H Sandalwood SC and ASB, and a Rapira Super Stainless blade.

    Shower and Shave

Hot shower using Amber Bath bar soap.
Facial scrub with Proraso glycerin, preps the face very nicely.

I chose the infamous #6 Brush to lather. This brush will be the first brush I will attempt to re-knot. Nice handle horrible knot.
For Menthol Monday,:smiley freezing: I chose Tet-A-Teat shave cream. :( it was the last of the cream in the tube.

The Condard OC, has not been used recently. I loaded with a vintage Wilknson blade.

A two pass DFS this morning. Post shave a facial rub-down with RazoRock alum, a splash of Clubman Veg. IMG_0099.JPG
