If you don't mind the sodium hydroxide! Besides that it has coconut oil, olive oil & peppermint oil so it might not be terrible

Tonight's shave was with a freshly refinished, and honed razor. I didn't know if it would work well, because it had some issues, when I was honing it. When it was all said and done, I had a 2 pass shave, that gave me near BBS results. Only one weeper, I didn't even feel, until the aftershave went on. Overall, a success.

The VDH Deluxe Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Made-Rite 12 Boar brush. I did two passes; one with the Gillette Super 84 razor and Kai Stainless blade and one with my new to me Schick E2 razor with a Personna injector blade.. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My Nordic Beauty has been on my mind for months. Not only that but @twhite did up a nice wedge blade for me months before that. They have been calling to me and today I couldn't resist any longer. This was easily the smoothest shave I remember ever getting from this classic razor. Having shaved almost exclusively with straights for almost a year now has undoubtedly improved my technique. That and a well honed blade provided an outstanding shave. :happy036:

The vintage knots in the Ralph Lauren Safari brushes (circa 1992) came from South Korea. At that time, they were the equivalent of what Chinese made stuff is today.

Any South Korean knot making has gone to China, I'm sure.

Hair is overrated imo. I'm thinking of shaving my noggin just to use up my growing soap collection in this lifetime:D

Ok, let's get the rest of this month on the road!! Thanks for all the well-wishes and expressions of concern. I'm doing fine, and awake tonight. I got home from work yesterday, ate, sat down here at the computer and put my head back for a second....which turned into 2 hours before waking up and going to bed. Still trying to get the meds out of my system, or at least down to normal levels.

So, you're asking, what is MAYhem-ish about the setup for tonight? Nothing at all, other than the slight tremor in my hands from all the meds of the past week. I decided a couple of days on a safe setup was prudent. And, the 'Crat and Sharp Star are a perfect combo for a totally smooth and burn free shave. Quite an excellent way to start things over this month.

Planning to stay with this setup a day or two then I'll get more caught up and get going with the real stuff. Hope your week is going great!
