I picked up some NOS Schick blades and thought I would give them a trial run for the Grandpa Shave. My first impression is that these blades are excellent...sharp and very smooth. I look forward to trying them in other razors. I enjoyed an excellent shave and the Musgo Real aftershave was very soothing.

Good day, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Shave Den!

So here's the deal. I was gifted this cursed Conair Instant Hot Lather machine yesterday by my boss, thinking he was being helpful. So my father in law went out and bought me an official red can of Barbasol to use in it. See, I went directly from an electric to a straight (after a few miserable weeks with a DE) so I've never actually bought a can of goo before.

Anyways, I finally get why you guys hate this stuff so much. WOW was that ever the worst shaving product ever. ZERO glide, ZERO lubrication, ZERO moisturization, dried into a foamy mess and glued itself to my face instantly and then glopped sadly into my sink after each swipe. I might as well have been using the wapi dry. I still got a DFS out of it because the wapi is UNSTOPPABLE, but won't be trying that again. Sorry, dad. Sorry, boss. To the goodwill this POS goes. My wife seemed interested in the Barbasol for herself though, so I guess it wasn't a total loss.

And speaking of hot lather... this experience reminds me I must get me a scuttle...

* I had to hit under my nose with my Sensor. Just couldn't finagle the Gem Jr. around there yet.

I finally finished off this Palmolive Menthol tube--thank God I have a couple more. I love this cream so much. The Super Speed, with a new 7 AM took off my rough beard stubble like nothing!

Slept in until 8:20 and decided to give the straight a go. Post shower, I stropped the Lunawerk about 60 or 70 laps....and boy, did I feel rusty after two and a half months....I worked on the MWF soap for about a minute and lathered up and then placed a hot wash cloth on my face...boy does that ever feel good. Then after about a minute and a half I face lathered for real and got to work. I was able to do a decent WTG on both cheeks, the neck and even my chin (uh-oh...slight nick there...not paying enough attention :ashamed2: ) then decided to finish up with the Tech/Feather combo. Sometimes I feel like I need a little alcohol sting so I added the Florida water to the routine today. I went with the WoW as it seems to follow the Florida water with little contradiction (if that's the right word). It felt good to use the straight again.
