    Sunday Shave

    Sunday, November 15, 2009

    Razor: Merkur Progress XL
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    Brush: Vulfix 2006 Pure Badger
    Soap/Cream: MWF
    A/S: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel/TOBS Sandalwood splash

Nice DFS shave this morning--no nicks, no weepers--using the Shark SC blade for the first time. I took it slow and easy, not knowing quite what to expect. In retrospect, I could have used a little further touchup in the chin area, but was playing it cautious. The blade seemed pretty sharp--it will be interesting to see how subsequent shaves on this blade go.

The witch hazel, followed by the TOBS splash was a nice finish--the sandalwood scent of the TOBS did not clash in the least with the heady aroma of the MWF. :happy102

Shave Of The Day - November 15th

    • Hot Shower
    • Semogue 1305
    • La Toja Shave Stick
    • Pal 3 piece
    • Bic Chrome Platinum Blade - Day 1
    • Homemade Skin Food
    • TSD 4711 Type A/S Spalsh with Allantoin

First time using this brand blades and I can say my initial reaction isn't too good. While it seemed sharp and smooth, whisker reduction just really didn't seem to happen, almost like it wasn't really cutting. Of course YMMV as always.

    Razor: Merkur Futur on 1.75
    Blade: Iridium Super
    Brush: Rooney 3/1 Super
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    A/S: Royall Bay Rhum

The Mitchell's Wool Fat and Rooney 3/1 combination teamed up to produce mounds of rich creamy lather and the Futur lived up to its billing as the Ultimate Shaving Machine as I enjoyed an effortless BBS Shave. The Royall Bay Rhum was a nice change of pace. I at first did not care for the scent but it has definitely grown on me.
