I'm doing this really early today. Tomorrow is Veterans Day here in the USA. It is the old Armistice Day. It is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918. On this day we remember all who have served in our armed forces. I would encourage you here in the USA and abroad to find a veteran and thank him or her for their service.

Here are my thanks to all who have served and are serving at this time. I salute you all. God bless you every one.

My Shave of the Day for NOVember 11.
The ribbons in the upper right are ones I got for service during the Vietnam Era. The ribbons in the lower left are my Dad's who served in WWII as a Sea Bee.

Nivea for Men Sensitive Face Wash
    C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream
    Omega Pro 98 boar brush
    Gillette Super Speed '47
    Astra SP
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

You brought a tear to my eye seeing your post. I lost my dad 5 years ago, and he was the bravest man I ever knew. He was 101st Airborne WWII and jumped out of airplanes all over Europe. I was also in the service during the Vietnam time but did not make it over there. My dad and I used to watch The Band of Brothers over and over. My dad and I salute all of you for your service and sacrifice.

Everyone simply must shave with one, I feel like a Victorian Gentleman.

Nada! The Penguin is a citrus freeze,The Rub is more herbal, both don't last long scent wise,a good choice if you are planning on a cologne.

But it has to be SHARP. Like Mike (macaronus), he just shaved with his and it wasn't sharp enough so he didn't get a smooth shave out of it. I lucked out and it was shave ready.

I find the scent a little powdery, but keep it in an OS mug and calms down. It is definitely pricey unless you can find it on sale. IB had an overstock or something last year and I was able to get it for about $8 a puck. I had to buy 2 of them. By the end of the puck, I was tired of it, but some time away healed that wound and I am just a few shaves in to my new puck.

I thought I was being clever once and added the last 6-8 drops of my M-Bomb to my already-chilly Stirling Black ice lather.
Did I feel the freeze? Indeed. So much so both my eyes were watering by the second shave pass. A bit too much of a good thing…..:sad023:
