In a word... Yes! You should try one of the Witch Hazels from TSD. They are the best in the world, IMHO. I love the Winter Fresh one with menthol. It's fantastic!! The TSD product comes in many flavors and has a nice pump bottle. After shaving, I use a warm water rinse and then apply the WH while I am cleaning up. Then, cold water rinse, and then on to the ASB.

Well, it has no scent - it is just to tone the skin after a shave. It has a big and strong sting for a few seconds, but then it feels cooling and very comfortable. :) Today was only the second time in my life to use it.

Folks, I beg you all to forgive me if and when I speak in a foreign language. I am unfortunately so used to speaking many different languages that sometimes it gets to be 2nd nature to me and I tend not to think in English because it is not my native language. I promise that when I do speak in a different language I will always translate my comment.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

I love the old world smell of the Musgo products. Nice three pass shave but I have started to notice a very slight sensitivity to the Musgo cream. No problem if I start my shave with the normal amount of skin on my face but I would avoid it if I was a bit raw. The Musgo aftershave is a good product with a long lasting fragrance.

    Cheers, everyone!

    Merkur HD
    Portland General Store Whiskey Soap
    Super Iridium Blade
    Lijun Shaving Finest Badger
    La Toja Aftershave Lotion
    D.R Harris Aftershave Milk.

A three pass (maybe four, apparently the autopilot was engaged) shave that resulted in a DFS.
This blade will not go into my top three blade rotation. It was somewhat sharp, but felt a bit too rough.
But that might be the autopilots fault steering me towards the sky and a thinner atmosphere.

This is the original Bulgarian version of Viking Sensitive cream which I used today, and it's very, very good. I bought a couple of tubes from Bestshave in Turkey. The cream really does sensitive skin a lot of good with its soothing, moisturizing, and cooling effect, and the 444 balsam and Barbon aftershave added plenty of extra menthol goodness. Another most enjoyable shave for me. ;) :D

First off I have to say Jeff, I really, really didn't need to know about Bestshave. I don't know how they are shipping here to the middle of no where (even our own postal service seem to have trouble remembering where we are). But shave creams and blades are where my AD tends to be localized so Thanks.

    But to the point SOTD.

Proraso new formula Pre/Post Shave over a hot water splash
    EJ 89L
Gillette black package on day 4
    TOBS Rose SC
    HVD brush
    Niveha(sp) shave balm
    Old Spice

The TOBS SC was one of several new creams that I had gotten day before yesterday. And while I can't comment on the scent, at least I know it is not so chemical that it stops up my head, the little whiffs I did get were nice. The cream and lather were IMO great. I did WTG, XTG and ATG for a really close shave with no feeling of roughness. I did get a couple of little nicks on my chin. But that seems to be BET (Benign Essential Tremors which are not benign even with medication and always most inopportune). The shave balm took care of the nicks and left a pleasant feel. And Old Spice is, well I don't know can't smell it either but IT IS TRADITION. All in all a nice shave. It was very quiet in the house and I turned the water off while doing each pass just to listen to the sound of the blade doing in each and every hair really a kind of neat sound! Usually Saturday is the day off from shaving, but maybe this was so good or again I still have two other new shave creams that are just crying for me to try them. Addiction thy name is shave cream.

A great shave! This was my first time with the AdP and I found it to be an easily lathering, great smelling, great performing cream. It also seems to be the same as RRXXX. I'll be alternating between the two for the next 4 days to see if I can tell the difference. If not, I'm going to take my sample of AdP and press it onto the RRXXX to get rid of one container.

Yesterday was my Menthol Monday on a Thursday. Something new for me.

The hardware was the usual EJ 89L, Gillette black package blade and HVD brush.

The software was a mix of old and new
    Proraso new formula PrePost Shave
Niveha(I do have to learn how to spell that) shave balm
    Palmolive Menthol Shave Cream
Walgreen Menthol AS (Studio 25 or something like that)

Anyway to make a short story longer than it needs to be. The Palmolive was an experience. Now experience can be good, bad or somewhere in between. As a shave cream it was GREAT everything you could ask for from a SC, smooth cushioning and nice to my skin. The menthol experience I am still out on. I kind of liked it and maybe if it hadn't been like 28 F outside when I walked out the door a few minutes later it might have been enjoyable. It just sort of felt like cold water on my skin. But then I have never used anything in winter by way of skin protection so maybe I just can't feel it all that much. But I am willing to give it a couple more tries, since I didn't think that I would like it at all. Or put it aside until summer when it will be 90 F when I walk out the door in the morning. Soo why buy it in the first place? MAN IT IS SHAVE CREAM!! Therefore it must be tried and owned! Or is that owned and tried????

Very nice shave, smooth and close. I'm going to order a knot for the handle on the right today. I've been impressed with the Whipped Dog 30mm silver tip so I'll try another in 22mm. I'm pretty sure it will end up around 45mm for a loft setting. The 30mm on the left has earned favorite brush "ever" status. It's just been a joy to use for face lathering, pure luxury. Have a good one.
