The Muhle shave cream is delightful with the wonderful scent of fresh oranges that fills the bath area. It has a nice creamy lather. doug

    • Prep: Brush soaking in ice water, face washed with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser, luke warm shower
    • Razor: FaTip Grande Head mounted to Fendrihan Wooden Bullet
    • Blade: Shark Super Stainless
    • Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
    • Cream: Lea Sensitive
    • AS: Aqua Velva Musk
    • Post: Cold Water Rinse, and an insane amount of Aftershave
It has been 10 days since the last time I had used the FaTip head. I was disappointed with the last shave so today I wanted to try a different blade to see if there was any improvement.

Although the Shark performed well, the Matador/Cadet/RazoRock Open Comb head design is far more efficient in it's ability to reduce stubble. Three full passes and with some light buffing barely gave me a DFS.

The FaTip may have seen it's final shave from me today. I know other love it, but when I can get a better shave out of an open comb that has better quality control, fits a much wider variety of handles with no problem, and cost anywhere from 2/3 to 1/2 the price of the FaTip, it is a no brainer for me.

So glad to have a fresh bottle of the AV Musk I decided to go a little overboard.

    Hey Lyndon,

I want one, and I want one BAD. That is one razor I plan on buying for myself in the very near future.

Loving it...3 passes of Heaven...Text-Book BBS
I've gotten so many great shaves lately my face is starting to 'shine'...

I've tried the Fleur du Male before and said it smelled like an orange orchard by the beach on the Meditteranian where I used to live...Orange Blossoms predominently...and the bark from the orange trees...It has a bad rep as a hipster's scent or too feminine for men (I think this is because of the lude bottle and the excessive Disco strength sillage and longevity, you do get your money's worth)...but I think it simply puts me on the beach, on the Med next to an orange orchard...probably my favorite smelling place in the world...so I dig it...and my wife thinks it smells like Heaven....so I dig that too..;) This really is something of a masterpiece by Francis Kurkdjian, who has repeated exactly the same scent in his high dollar Boutique Line to much critical acclaim...But don't be put off by the 'Over the Top' bottle...;) Jean Paul Gaultier is known for having his tongue firmly inplanted in his cheek...what a card..
This might become my signature scent...It won't replace Old Spice as my AS...but I only get about 20 minutes out of that scent...Put I'm looking for that 20 minutes every day...:happy108:

    Have a great weekend everybody!!

Had to get up early this morning so I needed something quick and easy. The Gillette Tech ended up being a good choice. I am really liking the Alt Innsbruck. I am not exactly sure if its a cologne or after shave but I love the unique scent and cooling effect.

    Cheers, everyone!

That is a beautiful Superspeed. Has it been replated as it looks new. I love my SS but rarely use it because it is an awful looking user grade razor.

When I first tried RRXXX I thought it was pretty good, but the more I use it, the more I like it, to the point that I love it now and I'm glad I bought 2 more tubs recently. Trying it back to back with AdP, I don't notice any difference in performance, and I find the scent to be slightly different. The AdP smells a bit more vintage, or more concentrated, whereas the RRXXX smells very similar but a bit fresher. i could easily believe these are the same soaps, just different ages.

Nice shave this morning. Stiff grind on this razor, there is very little feedback while shaving. This is a very good razor but my preference seems to center around old vintage stuff. Maybe it's the historical perspective behind the vintage razors that holds more of an allure for me. No matter how good a modern razor is, it just seems to be missing something. Sorry for the ramble. Have a good one.

Hi Arley, thanks for the compliment. Yes, the '47 Super Speed was replated with rhodium. It was done by Stan at abovethetie.com. I am not really a collector kind of guy but I did decide to get my favorite vintage razors redone in rhodium. I was quite lucky to come across my birth quarter (I-3) Slim Adjustable on eBay a couple of weeks ago (I haven't received it yet). I was thinking about doing it in something different but gold plated razors don't really appeal to me too much. Still thinking...
