I had originally intended to use a straight razor today, but I was still a bit groggy after my shower so I changed my mind. I chose wisely, because I wound up nicking myself by the ear with the Futur...I do not want to think about what could have happened had I been using a straight. A touch of Clubman Nick Relief, some Neosporing, and a splash of Master Topaz and all was right with my little world.

Better than expected considering it's the first time in roughly two years I've used a cartridge. Almost as close as a DE shave and with only very minor irritation (which would be zero with a DE). While not really enjoyable, the results are acceptable.

Had some extra time this morning and I ended up with a beautiful 3-pass shave that left me as close to BBS as I'm going to get. I had a little rough patch on either side of my neck because of the way my hair grows and I can't get my straight to the angle I need to get it BBS there. Other than that, I can't stop touching my face. What a great way to start the day.

Quite a nice smooth shave! I really enjoyed it. Those pro horse hairs by V-L are great brushes, and cheap! Slainte!

Friday's Shower and Shave
While showering my Omega 48 was warming for its workout. After showering I applied Johnson baby oil. The Omega went to work on Benton Clay (sample), whipping pillowly mounds of lather. The razor choice was a Gillette Open Comb loaded with a Lord Blade. Three passes I had a very excellent DFS. After a DFS, I rinsed with warm water, the a invigorating cold water splash. After pat drying my face I applied a liberal splash of Colonia Agua de Rue.
