    Today's Lineup

    Assorted Hot/ Cold Wraps/Soaks
    EBC Preshave
    Vulfix 404 Mixed
    MWF
    EJ89
    Gillette 7 o'clock blue (1)
    Witch Hazel
    TSD Bourbon Vanilla Milk
    Old Spice AS

Today was day two with the Fat. I wanted to recreate yesterday's condition so I went with a fresh Gillette Blue, and looking back I used all of the same members of ther line up with the exception of the AS.

Today I wet my brush and shook a good amount of water off, and began lathering the milk. There are no words for how quick this soap lathers up, and for how easy it is to apply; preferring for me anyway to be circled into the face and followed by a 'face painting.'

My Jagger is very happy with the MWF and trips the light fandango as it dances through the FAT. That makes me happy.

And I can't get over how good it makes my face feel. I will definitely get some for the shower.

The shave was most excellent, the Gillette Blue was smooth out of the box, and sitting at my 7:45 meeting, I officially declared this shave a BBS.

I am leaving room for growth, so I will declare this a 4.5 blade shave.

Good point, but I never really took to the electric's. Just didn't really work for me. I'll do the grunge for a day or so, I should be ok by Saturday or Sunday. Now I can look like all the 30'ish kids in the office, except i'm fat and old.
I just don't feel or work as good when I shave.

    • 2011 R-41
    • Taylor Made (.25), Gillette blue (.25), store brand platinum (.5)
    • Old Spice lather shave SC
    • EJ 25mm silvertip
    • vintage Shulton Old Spice AS
I figured that since every blade I've tried in it worked pretty well, I'd run some of the old carbon blades through it. Man that sucked. I don't like them in my other DEs and can't say that I enjoyed even the first half of my shave in my R-41 either. I used the Taylor Made first and could only (barely) tolerate shaving my face with it so I put in the blue hoping for better results on my neck. Extreme tugging and zero comfort with both. Then I replaced the blue with a modern store brand platinum blade for my ATG pass and BOOM, sweet success :). I did end up with a bit of irritation from the carbon blades but it is all gone now.

It Was The Best of Shaves It Was The Best of Shaves

I made an audible from my pic and decided to shave with MWF for day three. I woke up last night and couldn't sleep and using several brushes, went about finding the ideal mix of Moisture and Fat for my Vulfix 404 Mixed.

So why not put it into practical application, a real life situation.

My Vulfix, as usual created a mountain of lather, but this time, with the mixture down, boy did I have a lather on my face that would make my Grandfather proud.

I had a long EBC preshave marinade, while I worked through some issues with one of my medicare providers. With my poor man's Chock Full of Nuts pot of Farberware perked coffee showing E, I took a long hot shower and got set up to shave.

The EJ89 with Gillette Blue (2) glided through the Fat, which likes short, quick strokes, even at an ever so slight angle. The shaving began, and once again it was a thoroughly delightful experience.

It was now time for a cold soak and splash and some witch hazel. I then marinaded my face for five minutes with TSD ISZ Milk, and then finished with a handful of Caswell Massey Talc and Clubman Original in one handful.

The results are one smooth feeling face and one very happy shaver.

Thanx TSD, I have learned about pre-shave, boars, witch hazel, TSD Milks, blade variety, and an overall ability to mix up my shave experiences.

Since there is always room for improvement, I will give this shave my highest honor yet, 4.6 Blades.

    Thank you for reading,
