For Thursday. A long hot shower. As I was showering the Parker Badger Brush, was warming up. In the sink warming was Ginger's Shave Soap. After the shower I applied Johnson Baby Oil. I whipped up a nice mound of warm lather. I choose a newly acquired 1920 Gillette Open Comb, I used a Super Max blade. After two passes and a few touch-ups I had an great BBS.

Soaked brush while I took a shower Brush: Eterna Pure Bristle (cheapo boar bristle) SC: Musco Real, first shave with this stuff, nice lather, not too crazy about the scent. Razor: Treet Starline TTO loaded with a fresh Treet blue special Rinse followed with a swipe with alum, and then lotion (Jergen's Overnight repair) Got a whole bunch of new shave stuff in the mail today, and was eager to try some of it out. The Musco Real came from Rivendell.com (they're actually a custom bicycle maker, the owner adds stuff to the catalog that he thinks you should try) The alum, razor and blade came from Shoebox Shaveshop. I also got some soaps, "Jeeves" was short in stock on one of the soaps, and was very generous with replacement items. I'll post in November hauls once I take some pics. Due to the glacial pace at which my facial hair grows, I probably didn't _need_ a shave today, but I figured I'd at least clean up what I missed yesterday. Plus, I couldn't let all that new stuff just sit there unused.

It smells clean and good, and leaves the skin feeling great. I'll show you guys a photo of it, and I strongly recommend it. The Eveline Aloe aftershave gel is fantastic as well, but unfortunately I have no photo to show.

Revisited the RP Personna and it just doesn't seem so sharp any more. Still got a decent shave, just not quite as close as some recent blades I have tried.
TGIF: Gillette Slim Adj razor Laser blade Charismata Barber Shoppe SS FS Finest brush Osage Rub Visal Balm Ivy Club Spice A/S Very nice shave. Forgot that I had the Charismata SS. It's a nice tallow based soap that works well for me.
Friday, Nostalgia of a sort. I hadn't used my old Atra in well over a year, so I thought I'd break it out. Vintage Old Spice soap Omega brush 1985 Gillette Atra handle CVS Pivoting Plus Atra compatible cartridge (1) And an okay shave. Not quite the smooth and comfortable feeling I've gotten used to during the shave itself, but the end results were just fine. I'll use up this cartridge, they cost less than fifty cents each, and should be good for four shaves as I recall. Then back to the good stuff.

Friday, November 19, 2010 Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Supermax Super Stainless Brush: Grosvenor LE Soap: TOBS Sandalwood A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood Toner A very nice DFS+ shave today--#3 on this blade; the Supermax gives very smooth results. I'm also liking the TOBS soap. Although I have used and liked TOBS creams, this is my first Taylor soap. I think this is my 3rd use, and I find it easy to make a very nice, protective lather good for at least 3 passes. I could have tried a 4th pass this morning to see if I could reach shaving Nirvana--BBS--with this blade. I had plenty of lather, but decided that it wasn't really worth the extra time for the possible slight improvement.
