Menthol-monday
A rare DE shave this morning—first one in months!—using a safety razor that comes as close to a straight razor shave as one can, I suppose. The hyper-aggressive 2011 Mühle R41 with a new feather blade provides a super-close three-pass near-bbs result. Menthol-bombed 'Sweeney Todd' and a Fine 'L'Orange Noir' finish.

I just noticed that menthol is listed in the ingredients of my Rise Cooling Balm A.S. I guess we all know what my Monday shave will be from here on out .

 

Just to follow up on my menthol discovery in the Rise-it gives a bit of the original(50's)scent, so much so that I wouldn't have guessed there was any menthol in there. But..."cooling" means just that, of course

today's shave was nice. MM shave,I used Jack Black. three passes with the slim, last trip for the Astra blade. very nice shave. finished with iced brisk.

Menthol Monday on a frosty morning. The Arko was whipped into a nice and cool lather by the #6 brush. The Mongoose and the Barbers Favorite made short work of the weekends worth of stubble. The ICL and the Cuir Cannage were a cool finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

I've missed my Gillette 195 Fat Boy, and a new Feather blade, as they work so effortlessly together. Whipped up some nice warm Cella after loading up my new mug with a thumb nail portion. Love the almond scent. The heavy handle and head of my FB, helped with the Feather blade, made quick work in 2 passes. A little touchup on my neck ATG on 3 and done. The WH felt good, nice and cool. After cleanup some JB and when it dries some Vintage Old Spice Lime Cologne. Y'all have a good one!

The is my brother's SOTD. Why mention it? Because he has very sensitive skin I sent him the adjustable razor to set however he liked. Dialed down between 1 and three, he said it was the first time in years his face did not burn all over. Next is upgrading the other stuff.

 

I got my first straight back in July. I still use a DE occasionally, but mainly use Straights now.

Sorry, haven't been on here like I should posting my shaves. Trying to get better at that.

Had a decent 3 pass shave today. I always seem to have a good shave with the TSD soap regardless of what gear is used, and this is no exception. The TSD whipped up a nice lather and is very cold. The Bolzano blade is still going strong and there was no tugging at all. I liked the look of this bottle and figured the blue juice would look cool in it. Hope everyone has a great shave and a great day!!
