With that Gentleman Jon A.S., I suppose one could benefit as well by Gillette Barbershop-Fresh Shaving Cream, as people say you don't need an aftershave with it because it smells so good. (Or any barbershop cream for that matter).

I'm going to buy another bottle tomorrow morning because this one is almost empty. Just enough for two more good splashes! ;)

It is a pretty big bottle and its about 40% so it should last a while. On the other hand it would look better if it was full.......

    NOVember - NO Variation

    November 16

Razor - Feather SS AC Pain Stick
    Blade - [IMG](6)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea

A new week dawns. Monday morning and it's cold, raining cats and dogs and just a miserable St. Louis November day. Welcome to our world. Well, it's about time for a change I suppose. One thing is the same though, another day with the Feather SS as the second half of the month starts. Still with the BoSFat too. I do find myself staring more at the Wolf Whiskers brush that is as yet unused. It's broken in, ready to go, just waiting for the month to change. (sigh)

So, off we go. BosFat for a great lather as always now and into the first pass with the Feather. This is really amazing to me how automatic this has become. I'm setting the blade down exactly the same way now, same place, same technique and it's producing a great first pass all over. Re-lather and approach the second pass which tends to go between another WTG and XTG with a lot of diagonal work involved. Finish is very nice but some touch up needs to be done on the neck. This has been where I've made some mistakes but all's well today. No blood and no worries. Alum still burns pretty good where I touch up but I got a very nice DFS, working toward BBS when it happens. I'm not pushing for it, just have the feeling it will eventually show up.

Good way to start the week and it's out the door to spend the day getting soaked and chilled. Gotta love fall on the Mississippi!

Everything came together for a great shave this morning. WTG, ATG, a few touch-ups, and I'm DFS+ with no irritation. Alum was quiet. I'm enjoying the combination of the Semogue 830 boar brush and the MdC scented soap more each day.

    Have a great Tuesday!

This is the same razor/blade combo that left me with 2 dozen weepers and hours of redness on Sunday, despite a rich, slick super-lather of RazoRock Brain Freeze and KMF Key Lime. Today, with a significantly more anemic lather, an acceptable shave. Go figure.

    Tyr's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap (with mango butter)
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (6, 7, 8)
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel & aloe vera pad, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

As smooth and comfortable a shave as I got yesterday, today's shave may have been better. How? I decided to switch my 3rd pass's direction below the jawline so that it was ATG, rather than XTG, as that's typically where I feel the most stubble after all the postshave care. I won't say I caught the baby, but it's definitely a closer DFS than yesterday's, without any sacrifice in comfort.

A real good shave today - my Astra blade in the Super Speed cruised through the stubble so easily. The Gillette Menthol cream has excellent lather, and although it's not quite as frigid as the Palmolive Menthol or as skin-friendly, it's still colder than cold enough and the skincare is more than sufficient. The Lucky Tiger a/s cream and the Skin Bracer were a very cooling and soothing finish. No complaints! :happy088: :happy088:

    Plisson/L'Occitane brush

    Osage Rub/Jason's Aloe Gel
    Colorado Sage cologne

This was the Gem Blue Star blade last chance and it redeemed itself marvelously. I had tried this brand blade in several other SE's with not joy at all. I was beginning to think that this was a bad pack or I had lost my SE mojo. Not so evidently because this shave was smooth, comfortable and very effective; a 2 pass DFS+ with no effort whatsoever. I'm ready world, bring it on! Now go enjoy your day folks
