SoS: November 17, 2014 - November 23, 2014

Hey guys, some snow fell this morning here in Montreal but it's gone already. Anyhow, here are my shaving plans to start off a new week.

Menthol Monday:

This is the Mother of all Menthol Freezes in just about every aspect that one could imagine, because each item is so cold. The Neutrogena facial wash has a ton of menthol in it, then the Glacial Obsidian soap which freezes like there's no tomorrow. Add some Anherb conditioner if you want to continue the chill and give your skin some fabulous moisturizing and soothing, then finally a good splash or two of the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel will make you feel like your face is coming off - that's how cold it is!

 

NOVember 17's
This C.O. Bigelow SC is very cold when coupled with cold water. I don't know if I can make it through NOVember without adding some warm water. I will try.

It's 45 degrees and rainy this morning. The water was cold but not as bad as the last couple of days. The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and a new Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Excellent BBS all over! I absolutely loved this shaving cream. It creates an enormous amount of yogurty lather. It moistures the skin very well.

Evening Shave for Tomorrow
A very cool mentholated shave with the 'Black Ice' and another smooth 3-pass with the HJH! Not quite BBS—but with each passing month, my SR shaving improves to the point that it rivals the BEST DE shaves I've ever had—but without the residual after burn often associated with aggressive DE shaving.

2 passes and the week is rolling! Every day that I use the New LC head and the Tech handle I get more impressed. Every day that I use the Klar's Kabinett soap I get even more impressed because the scent may be fading a little, but the lather gets slicker and more luxurious as I learn the soap. Hmmm, maybe there is something to the 30 day rule...

I've been out of town and away from computers for a few days, so I haven't recorded my shaves. As much fun as I had, it's great to be home. The shave are definitely better at home. I got a fantastic BBS shave this morning. It could not be any better.

1st use of the Turkish #6 brush and it did well. Reserving finally verdict (of course) till after a few more tries. BTW, nice shave and I really really like the G series Schicks.
