Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

I got back from my business trip a day early, so I could use my Saturday soap instead of my travel kit soap

D.R. Harris Marlborough face lathered with Simpson Special Best Badger
Schick adjustable injector with Schick blade (3)
3 passes, cold water rinse and finish with Nivea Energy

Great shave. The Nivea Energy is a nice aftershave for those that like unscented aftershaves.

    Gillette New Improved Bulldog
    7OC - Indian Green
    Semogue OC Boar
    Klar Kabinett

    Superior 70

Great shave. Where the SOC once seemed small, it is now one of my larger brushes. It is a great brush, but it doesn't get much love as it would be wasteful to use it regularly for my quick 2 pass shave. I always end up rinsing at least a shave's worth of soap from the brush afterwards.

Received Synergy Bay Rum in the mail yesterday so I tried it out this morning. Good stuff. I spend most of my days outside and lately it's been in the cold and wind. The skin care of this soap is just outstanding. I've been using their vanilla/vetiver and IMO both are superb. Have a good one.

Great shave this morning. This brush is a week old and so far, save the stink, I love it. All the reviews are correct, it eats hard soaps for breakfast. It's a wonderful face latherer. I'm always amazed how the Astra blades perform on all my shavers. They may only be good for four to five shaves, but they're certainly worth ten bucks for a hundred blades. Clubman musk makes my face as tight as the original clubman. It's a perfect compliment to their original hair tonic. Very pleased. I've read a lot of reviews saying it's very close to the original clubman. I find it to be sweeeeeet and musky. Oh an another thing!! I love the colder water that comes out of the faucet in the winter for my post shave splashes. And I drink a lot of it too because it's so cold and tasty. Have an awesome weekend, shave on gents. image.jpg

    SATURDAY

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, homemade Citrus PSO
Razor: Merkur 39c Slant 'The Sledgehammer'
    Blade: Personna Lab (3)
    Brush: Semogue SOC Cherry
Lather: MWF, Pacific Cream, dab of Glycerin = Überlather" in a Becker scuttle
    Shave: Two passes, plus touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, Splash of Osage. finish with homemade Aloe/Shea Citrus balm

Made it a point to use the Scuttle today—and I'm glad I did. Nippy-cool in the early AM, the hot shower followed by warm lather is pretty sweet!
Osage has a cooling effect, and the aloe balm is incredibly soothing.
    Have a wonderful weekend, all!

    Prep: hot towel
    Razor: Weishi 9306
    Blade: Astra SP (day 1)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Soap: Col Conk lime
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: cold water, alum

Best weekend shave ever? sort of... I was able to get a OK two pass shave with no irritation or nicks. I little sting from the alum, but hardly worth noticing. I could have used a third pass as this is not a smooth shave, it still passes a visual inspection.

My soap lathering needs work, but for the second time using a soap I think I did OK. I did go back to the soap a couple times, and also added water to the brush/bowl, but its getting there. Just need more practice.

    Saturday:
hot shower with Yardley English Lavender
    Homemade PSO
    Frankenrazor
Feather Hi Stainless Platinum (1) 3 passes
    VDH boar
    SRD Lavender (sample)
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    alum
    Musgo Real Lavender cologne (sample)

1st shave with a mystery razor I picked up awhile back for $5 at an antique store. The handle appears to be from a Gillette Tech and the head looks very much like a 1920's Gillette but the only marking on the head is "Made In USA" so I'm not completely certain what it is. I've only shaved a couple of times with an open comb razor so I'm not comfortable with the feel but it certainly kept me focused on my angle of attack. Came away with a few weepers and some slight irritation so we'll leave the jury out until I give it a few more tries maybe with some different blades.

The Lijun Badger has become my favorite Badger brush and one of my top favorites of all types of brushes. It has the firm backbone of the boars and the softness and performance of the quality badgers; I'm impressed! I broke out a new tube of the La Toja SC this morning. The end of the last tube seemed to last forever! I really enjoy the great lather it provides as well as it's unique scent. This morning was the second use of this Wester Bros blade and it again provided an outstanding close and comfortable shave; it's a great performer. :shaverHave a great weekend Gentlemen!!

    Gillette Adjustable 'Fatboy' F2 (1960)
Astra Superior Platinum blade (day 1)
Omega 20102 Pro boar bristle brush
Tabac soap, lather with warm water—
    Walgreens Witch Hazel
    Gillette Cool Wave

Maiden voyage with my first Gillette 'Fatboy'! The shave was peaceful and thoughtful, I put the setting on 2 for the first pass, and dialed it to 3 to finish on the second pass. My aim was not to go overboard and was happy with a CCS. My face feels great thanks to the great Tabac! I'm very happy with this shave, I'm still processing the experience and think I'll dial it back to 2 for awhile, we'll see. I think the best part of the experience was using a 1960 razor, the nostalgia and wonder of a time before I was born. Aces!
