This was shave number two with the MMBT. The KMF cool mint is an excellent shave cream. The Parker badger brush face-lathered very well, and I did two passes with the MMBT to get a near BBS shave. I was feeling a little punk because I thinking I am getting a little cold, so, this shave helped to revive me some. I am feeling better. Finished off with the Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman AS.

I couldn't wait, so I jumped my rotation and shaved with the Proraso Red (new version) that I got in trade from Jayaruh. In a word, awesome shave today and a sandalwood that I like.

After a 60+ hour work week this mornings shave was much needed relaxation. I'm not sure why it took a PIF for me to try Personna blue blades. They are fantastic.

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, Crown Shave Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: VDH Boar
Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Glycerin
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash

Thoroughly enjoyable shave this morning that left my face warm and tingling - as often happens with Clubman's alcohol sting. There was apparently something wonky in my technique or prep today, however; normally the Neutrogena with 3 passes of the Bic blade is a guarantee for BBS, but the point of my chin still has the smallest bit of residual stubble, so it's only a DFS shave. Tomorrow's another day; I get to try out the Speick.

Great shave. First shave with an Open Comb Razor ever (the R41 isn´t a full Open Comb for me) and i´m hooked...No problems for the blade to cut my whiskers.Gentle and really smooth.I will use this razor for the next shaves too.I have the feeling that open comb razors are better for me,because it seems, that my whiskers are tougher than i thought before...And then is an open comb ideal.Wow!!!Even the areas i had to do a little more touch ups with closed comb razors are clean now. I´m really impressed.
    Have a great Time.
    Greetings

    Thorsten,
What is it about the R41 that makes it not a full Open Comb to you? :)

2nd shave with the SuperMax Titanium in the Slim. I used the RazoRock XX this morning. I got a smoother shave on Day 2 witht the SuperMax T: close, nick & burn free. I finished with some Shulton Old Spice from India.

I jumped rotation again to shave with another new SS. This time, SRD's Opus X. I haven't smelled an Opus X cigar in quite a while, so I can't speak to that. But, it does smell wonderfully of a high quality cigar. The scent might be a bit heavy in the puck, but when you lather up, it's just right. The scent does linger lightly post shave which is a plus for me, but might be a negative for others depending on your AS or EDT.

The soap is glycerine based, lathers very easily and is moisturising and protective. buy some! :D

Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

My first ever shave with a Weber razor but unfortunately it didn't go well at all. I cut myself three times - on my chin and both cheeks and I had a terrible reaction. I not only bled, I also broke out in a terrible cold sweat and felt very nauseous. Thank goodness for the Anherb conditioner because it not only cooled off my skin, it healed these nasty cuts very fast. I had a very similar experience with a Parker 89 several years ago, so I guess these kinds of razors are not for me. On a good note, the Palmolive Menthol cream felt so cold and nice and the Aqua Velva gave me that exhilarating menthol kick which I love so much. ;) :D

    SUNDAY
    Straight Razor Day!

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, homemade Cedarwood PSC
Razor: H. Böker & Co. 5/8 Full Hollow
    Strop: None
    Brush: Omega 626 Silvertip
Lather: DR Harris soap, MEM Olive cream dab of Glycerin = Überlather" in a Becker scuttle
    Shave: Two passes, plus touch-up*
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, Proraso PostShave cream
    *DE razor touch-up

I has my first complete straight razor shave today! After several days of gradually adding 'more face' to trial runs—and finishing the majority of the shave with a DE, this morning I used the Böker to do the entire job. I still used my Merkur Futur 'wide open' to finish off a few rough spots. Overall, I was quite pleased with the results. Very close BBS in two passes. Using an SR feels like using the 2011 R41…on steroids! Same blade feel and awareness of resistance, but the size of an SR blade takes some getting used to. No nicks, cuts or irritation. Slow & steady is the key—especially since the carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) in my left hand makes use of it quite uncomfortable. Overall, however, a new and very pleasing shaving experience.
    :happy093:
A BIG thanks to Bruce (aka 'Stroker') for his invaluable opinions, suggestions and tips on SR shaving. Without his experience and assistance, I'd still be an SR observer! Muchas gracias, amigo! :eatdrink047:
