    What a Luxury Shave!

A luxury shave! My pre-shave oil, my almond shaving soap, not to mention this Mastro Livi RWL34 razor and, to put the icing on the top of cake, Floïd the genuine, to me, the very best aftershave. Floïd has a special and refreshing touch, it cools your face like no other, giving a super smooth and velvety sensation on your skin. Not to mention its fragrance, something recalling to my memory when I was a kid and was going to the barber for a hair cut. This fragrance can still be smelt in some "old fashioned" barber shops here in Italy. The more I use my shaving soap, the more I love it and the more I think it is a magnificent shaving soap. I compared it "one to one" to many top notch shaving soaps and, in my opinion, mine is nothing less and in many cases it is even superior to most of them, from lathering to post shave. What else can I say about my Mastro Livi RWL34 straight razor? A superb and extraordinary shaver, a top notch performing razor giving a superior and impeccable shave.

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap (with mango butter)
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (3, 4, 5)
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel & aloe vera pad, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

I hadn't shaved in a few days, so there was plenty of stubble to work with. My brain was on autopilot this AM, apparently, as I started to squeeze out excess water from the brush before realizing what I was doing. As a result, the lather was a mite drier than typical for me; I think it was ever so slightly less slick as a result. Fortunately, the tools weren't impacted, and I still wound up with a DFS+ shave in three passes.

Salaam aleikum wa rahmat Allah 'al barakatu! (Peace be upon you and blessings of God!)

This shave with the Gada Cool Mint cream was so nice - lots of nice-smelling, chilly lather with perfect skincare. The Lucky Tiger a/s cream and the Skin Bracer were a dynamic finish! :happy088:

Wow! Gingers Garden Rose Petals is a delight to use, it smells amazing. The Gillette British Rocket is one of my favorite razors, it's simple to use and efficient as all heck. The Plissoft is becoming the brush I reach for.
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Nice razor! I'm waiting for one to arrive here. Not sure if I want to open the package or not, maybe just keep it sealed up for now.

I think those white and blue Gillette aftershaves(you have the white one there)are quite under-rated.

Thanks. It's a basic stand I found on Amazon for about $16-18. Nice and heavy base. I want to get a couple more. Looks just like some of the ones from the big name companies that want 3x that much.

I like them both, but I think the lotion which is the white one cools a little better than the blue gel.IMO

    SHAVE OF THE DAY SUNDAY
    sotd80.jpg

    PREP: MUSGO REAL CLASSIC
    RAZOR: MAGGARD 18C
    BLADE: TIGER/ BOLZANO
    BRUSH: EVERREADY 600
    SOAP: WHOLLY KAW FOUGERE BOUQUET
    POST: WK FOUGERE BOUQUET

3 pass shave this morning. Started out with the Tiger blade, only could stand one pass with this blade because it was tugging and pulling so bad I couldn't take it anymore. This has to be one of the worse blades I have tried yet, but I'm glad I tried it so I know how it performs. Switched to the Bolzano and it made a world of difference. The WK soap has always been a slick protective soap and it saved my face from getting burned up. Finished off with matching A/S. All things considered, the shave turned out good in the end. Skin is BBS with minimal irritation. Hope everyone has a great shave and a great Sunday!
