Love your pics, but my eyes keep being drawn to the figured maple box and chest in the background with the handcut dovetails. Very nice!

Which Yaqi knot is that? It looks like AP shave company's Synbad knot. Thanks!

I was raised in Kentucky - and have appreciated cypress for decades. Extremely interesting wood. Back home the distillers use it for brewing sour mash. Daggone stuff is unaffected by moisture. Really cool handle

I'll be honest, it is not my favorite scent. I need to be in the mood for it, and I almost exclusively use it in the fall. I doubt I will replace it when I finish it.

Thx man. Found a carpenter in Maryland on etsy that makes boxes, and small cabinets in tiger maple. Funny how we [wet shavers] all have very similar interests. I, like you admire fine wood. Appreciate the post - the whole shaving experience and the our community is a daily highlight for me. Glad i found this group.

    Good evening all

    20181116_203246.jpg
Been a while since I used this Qshave knock off of the Merkur Futur. I checked for a blade and found it had a Shark in it so I loaded a new Feather and cranked it up to 6, the highest setting. I was not impressed when I used it last time but forgot why. Well the thing is, it's a heavy razor and the head is larger than I could navigate easy with my basic skills. Now with more time on the blades, it went much better. I like it and it's a good shaver, much better than I remember.
I got a close, smooth, scratch free 3x2 run this morning before daylight. I did have to hold it away from the skin to keep the pressure lite, yea thats different.
This did make me feel better, I knew what to do quickly.
So it is not so bad after all.
    Oh and

    Enjoy

    Thanks Doug.
I like the feel of the handle in my hands and the black wolf knot was set deep enough so plenty of backbone but right amount of splay.
