    Hi Primo!
What's your opinion on the Wizamet blades? I haven't tried them and I'm thinking about purchasing them. Which blades would you compare them to?

    Hi Paul,
The Wizamets are a great blade. Made in Poland. I find them to be smooth and sharp. Not harsh. BUT, I get similar sensations and results with just about every blade I have ever used. If you can find them at a decent price (they are discontinued) I would try them.

Razor: Yaqi 50mm AC V2 Excalibur, Mfg 2021> great razor design, tame mid range, easy to work the beard, carefree mostly. Head design is small and fitting parts can be challenging some mornings, I like to use lay a wash cloth to assemble & disassemble.
Blade: Schick proline P30 (1), sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap: Cyril R Salter Indian sandal wood cream, mid range nice sandal wood scent, excellent lather qualities.(misted)
Brush: Yaqi 2 band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Witch hazel cleanse + Ogallala Bayrum with sandal wood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion(Balm) + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = [IMG]excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a Schick P30 blade.

    Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend...

Last week i used the Indian Gillette 7'oClock SP, carrying on with the parker 98r for the rest of the month pairing it up with Trig stainless blade another blade made by the Treet co in Pakistan...They come in two different covers green & blue , both have impressed me with their sharp longevity and smoothness and match up wonderfully with each razor i have paired them with....As with a lot of other DE blades the Trig blade can be a little rough on the first pass, but after that they mellow out.... As to say which is the better blade between the different covers they are the same blade IMHO just in different packaging for selling purposes like a lot of DE blades.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of The Real Shaving Co. Post Shave Soothing Balm.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Smelling good for the beginning of the weekend and hope you all enjoy yours !!

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 13, 2021

I decided to have another shave with my new Weck Sextoblade. The razor comes from the estate of a third party beauty/shaving supplies salesman and former barber, according to his great-granddaughter. My first shave with it featured a new Personna hairshaper blade, however, I noticed that the spine appeared to have some hone wear. So I soaked the original Sextoblade blade itself in barbicide overnight, This morning I ran it across my Swaty barber’s hone with som Smith’s Honing oil, after placing it back in the razor, until the edge looked good under my USB microscope.

I believe that the original blade had never been removed, as I was unable to remove it with my fingers when it first arrived, and needed a needle nose pliers to do so. Judging by the amount of shave residue on the original Sextoblade blade coupled with the hone wear on the spine, I believe the former owner treated it just like a regular straight and never removed it from the razor. In fact the original blade looks like it is double beveled. The shave angle on this old antique tool is virtually identical to the angle I use with my regular straight razors. My two and a half pass mug shave with it this morning was every bit as good as my first shave with a fresh blade installed leaving me just as smooth.

My friend Evan’s beautiful anodized blue aluminum handled LE SynBad knotted shave brush always feels great on both dome and mug and has become one of my favorites. Synthetic knots have become every bit as good as natural fiber over the last few years. Most of my shaves now feature synthetic knotted brushes. They don’t require presoaking and perform every bit as well as my high end badgers. My boar brushes are another story. I love them, and they seem perfectly designed for bowl lathering MWF. My bakelite Shake Sharp loaded with its two stacked Feather blades swept away the noggin stubble in two ATG passes leaving me cool, clean, and velveteen.

RAZOR: Weck Sextoblade (Mug), Shake Sharp Model 1.5 (Dome)
BLADE: Original Rehoned Sextoblade Blade (Mug), 2 Stacked Feather DE
    (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE LE #005 Aluminum Handle SynBad Knot
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with PAA Frost Byte AS Splash.

Day 13 of 3D Printed Razor Month.

The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap lathered well with the Oscar11 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Stoll Jr. Lather Catcher Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
