    Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Nivea Men Power Fresh Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
    FatFace Ocean Escape Soap Bar.
    Brush: Omega 11047 Mixed Midget.
    Face Lather.
Lather: HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap. (no.3)
    Blade: Willy's Premium. ( D1)
    Razor: Parker 98r.

    Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./P&G Old Spice Bearglove ASL Spray./Wilko Men's Moisturiser.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave.

First shave into 'November Focus on one razor Month' using the Parker 98r... The heavy weight and long handle of the 98r has taught me to let the razor do most of the work and focus on my technique which results in close acceptable shaves....The willy's premium blade felt rough a little on the first pass today but after that it mellowed out....This is probably down to 'yours truly' getting familiar with this hefty efficient razor again rather than pointing the roughness of the blade.

The HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap. (no.3) with Lavender & May Chang like the other new formula's i added to my humble shaving soap collection earlier this year was a delight to shave with.. The zesty citrus scent from the May Chang is a wonderful addition to the Lanolin Soap recipe.

A Enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Wilko Men's Moisturiser to brace my mature rhino skin type to the autumn elements.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

So I believe it was Pete that sent me some different tucks of blades. I tend to use the same ones without trying new ones but I'm trying to make a conscious effort to try some that have been laying around. These are made in the UK and are Platinum Chrome Sputtered.....................go ahead and google it, I had to. It involves ions.......My determination is that Ions are a good thing when using Platinum Chrome. Nice smooth and sharp blade. Time will tell on longevity of blade life. Thanks Pete and hope you're well. Think he got a girlfriend and hasn't come up for air yet....

The Amouge was a sample sent to me by my buddy Gus @Str8on2 and is a nice one for sure. Forgot I had this and 2 other samples he sent. Thanks Gus ! Here's the scent description:
The Amouage Journey Eau De Parfum Spray is an alluringly smooth fragrance for the man who is sparkling with tradition and modernity. The woody and very masculine fragrance was introduced by the design house Amouage in the year 2014. The fragrance starts its journey with spicy notes from Cardamom and Sichuan Pepper. At the heart lie the sweet notes of Juniper Berries and Incense combined with hot notes from Tobacco. The base is resplendent with deep fragrances from Tonka Beans, Leather and Musk for a fragrance that is distinct and magnetic.

So reason for the soap/splash choice was we're heading to poke around Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains today and spend the night in Townsend, TN before coming home tomorrow morning as we have friends coming for a T-Bone Steak dinner on the porch. 2 years ago her father passed away and we wanted to be with them to celebrate what a great guy he was. If not raining after dinner we'll have S'mores and talk by a bonfire. Have a great day folks !!

    Hot shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Minora day 7
    MSC Dark Blue SS
    Bull Dog Moisturizer
    MSC Dark Blue AS Splash

Magnificent is the right word to describe Fernando’s Dark Blue soap - the scent is a perfect copy of Hugo Boss Dark Blue which I think smells beautiful, the lather works up perfectly - it’s so thick, rich, dense and protective, it’s mega slick thanks to the tallow formula, and the postshave feeling is awesome. The Bull Dog moisturizer works great as a balm, and the Dark Blue aftershave is witch hazel based so there’s no sting or burn and it smells so lovely. This shave was a three pass BBS work of art!

Have a good day - be well and safe!

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 2, 2021

After yesterday’s great weather, it was a bit of a shock to wake up to today’s overcast. My only recourse was a good shave, and this morning’s did not disappoint. I’ve heard that “tungsten steel or blue steel” were just marketing gimmicks that the early 20th century razor manufacturers used to hawk their wares. Well I believe there may be a kernel of truth there.

The edge on the Smith Bros. blue steel razor that I shaved with yesterday is amazingly sharp. The Shumate ‘tungsten steel’ 5/8 that I shaved the mug with this morning has maintained the same amazingly sharp edge for well over a year with no touch up. It is a very common looking straight razor, but the two and a half pass shave this morning was superb! Shumate built one heck of a razor1!

Those of you who have been reading my posts will be aware that I’m not a fan of Gillette TTO safety razors. There are exceptions to every rule, and the little Gillette Gold Rocket I shaved with this morning is definitely one. I really like the knurling on the handle which makes this little razor slip-proof. The two pass ATG noggin shave went swimmingly, and left yours truly velveteen smooth from dome to shoulders.

RAZOR: Shumate 5/8 (Mug), Gillette Gold Rocket (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute with 24mm Hybrid Knot Ferrule
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Chiseled Face Natural (Mug) and Osage Rub (Dome).
