All week I’ve been using stuff which I bought from my dear brother Fernando in Johannesburg, South Africa. This Lyko cream from India is one of the articles that he sells and it’s one of the BEST creams I’ve ever used. Its scent is very pleasant - it’s aquatic and kind of minty, the lather is so thick, rich, as well as slick and protective, it gives a mild but pleasant menthol sensation, and its postshave feeling is very comfortable. The Aveeno moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Pinaud Bay Rum not only smells so nice and old school - after a two second sting it feels so cooling as well as soothing on my skin. Two passes did the job for me - a terrific, effortless BBS shave!

Razor : Yaqi Katana SE Yaqi, Aluminum chrome coated retracting handle- Mfg 2019> mid range, interesting simple clamping system, takes 1/2 blades ( I scissor snip my blades in the wrapper) takes a few tries and to figure the best way to load a blade. I enjoy using this simple affordable razor.
Blade : Astra SS (1) sharp & smooth with great longevity.
Soap : Arko stick, different bold clean scent, excellent lather qualities. One of the best soaps to take to any tropical climate(Mexico, Costa Rico...) when travelling, ants & bugs do not like this scent and run for their lives bumping into things from teary eyes from my experience . Great soap to have around regardless of any controversy comes with it about it's scent. Best travel soap from my experiences IMO!
Brush : Yaqi" Casino clubs" 26mm timber wolf knot, excellent lather generator, heavenly luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse, Yaqi Musketeer rapier + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Yaqi Katana SE with a Astra SS blade.

Switched from the New Deluxe to its Art Deco cousin, the New Improved. Everything worked as it should. I bought a Fine Barber Blue splash to replace this Cool as it is on its last legs. I really like Fine splashes, but feel this Cool is just a nicer, deeper scent. No idea how close either are to the Floid original, as I never had it.
In other news, the large 7oz Jeeves tub was finished today. It only took me 6 years…

It's always nice to use the lather catcher. The Shave Nation bowl makes easy work of building mounds of lather. Shaved off a 2 day growth easily. 2-pas with cleanup WTG & ATG. I needed to do cleanup along my jawline as usual. No cuts, nicks, or weepers! Alum bar was silent.
It was an overall very nice shave. Smooth and smelling nice!

I am still waiting for the ceramic bowl that I ordered on Etsy back on August 1. They said they re running a bit behind. Should not be long now.

It is an interesting scent. I am using it through to Sunday this week. Today, it did not lather as well as I remember, so I will work on that the rest of the week. I only face lather. Maybe I didn't load it enough.
