Nice shave to start the week with. Might have to change blades cuz the Silver Star doesn't seem to like the Souplex razor. Didnt pull/tug, just didn't give the shave I wanted. Not bad just could be better. The Taconic Bay Rum SC works very well but the scent is just so-so to me. Anyway, go enjoy your day folks.

Razor : Gem MicroMatic clog pruf(Peerless variant)- Mfg 1945, mid range. Designed and built to last many generations with a little care. This Micromatic is a nice mid range shave and have had many close comfortable shaves like this one this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE coated (7) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, nice scented soap(Irish Creed) + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Rainbow) 26mm brown whiskers synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Irish Countryside(Irish Creed) with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Clog Pruf with a coated Gem blade.

Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Erasmic Shave Cream.
Razor: Merkur 34C. (Face) - Lord Silver Star. (D3)
Razor: Supply V2 (**) base plate. (Head) - Personna Injector PTFE. (D5)

Post:
Cold water Face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/ Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./ Alum Rub./Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel/Cien Men Sensitive ASB./Superdrug Forest Fresh ASL.

Early morning face & head shave.

The Erasmic shave cream is a great inexpensive shaving cream that doesn't have much of a scent, but makes up for it's performance and post shave feel.

A close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Superdrug Forest Fresh ASL.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth, & smelling divine.

These Derbys are pretty good blades in terms of sharpness and longevity although they’re a bit on the rough side compared to my Rapiras or Astra Greens. The De Vergulde Hand Extra Fris is a really nice soap - it’s from the Netherlands as well all know, and it has a completely different scent than the original version which is very classy as well as old school - this one is sporty with aquatic notes in a very pleasant way, it’s not tallow based but it lathers so thick, rich, creamy, with lots of cushion, and it leaves a very comfortable postshave feeling. The Proraso Blue balm smells nice but I can’t describe the scent accurately, and it’s so soothing. The Hega aftershave from Sweden has a neutral scent and there’s no stinging or burning even though it’s alcohol based - in fact it’s quite cooling. Finally the Versace Dreamer fragrance which is fairly nice - this one was a gift from my wife’s friend. Three swift passes gave me a cracking good BBS shave that was such a pleasure!

The Tabac Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #41 two-band badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1914 Gillette Pocket Edition and a Pro 500 Super Platinum Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Hendrick's Witch Hazel and then Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

DE SOTD, Thursday, November 14th 2023

Razor : Yaqi tile razor with a Yaqi nickel coated brass handle-Mfg 2021>, mild to very tame mid range. Well designed and made of 316SS, machining and finish are adequate for my shaving needs. Very similar to the Henson design & many similar vintage models prior IMO. One of the best bang for my dollars for a SS razor or affordable. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai SS (8) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. A very good blade for mild razor and will always have a tuck or 2 around my shave den.
Soap : Tabac, legend of the soaps with nice mild flowery clean scent with excellent lather qualities. It softens the whiskers IMO.
Brush : Yaqi "Viper" 24mm boar brush. Excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Very nice boar brush!
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel soap residual on beard, Nivea refreshing splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Tile 316 razor with a Kai SS extra wide blade. Very enjoyable shave this morning!
