    Tuesday morning:

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Derby day 2
Vintage Roxi SC (from Italy and terrific!)
    Bull Dog Moisturizer
    Musgo Real Classic AS Splash
    Aramis EdT

What a pity that this Roxi cream was discontinued because it’s so good. I bought it something like fifteen years ago and as I remember it was a top seller in Italy. The scent is so nice - very similar to the original Proraso Sensitive cream with wheat germ oil, it still lathers like crazy, and it leaves such a soothing, comfortable postshave feeling. The Bull Dog moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Musgo Real Classic aftershave’s scent is beautiful but it doesn’t foul up the delightful Aramis fragrance. I was in a bit of a rush so I did only two passes but I still ended up with a great BBS shave that was most enjoyable!

    See y’all tomorrow - have a good day![IMG]

    Tabac Tuesday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    Tabac Shave Soap
    Burma Shave Boar Brush
    Tourqued Slant by Tom
    Pro 500 Super Platinum
    CWR
    Hendrick's Witch Hazel
    Tabac AS

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Burma Shave Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Tourqued Slant by Tom and a Pro 500 Super Platinum Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Hendrick's Witch Hazel and then Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SE daily double shave, Tuesday, November 28th 2023

Razor (L) : Yaqi "Excalibur" chromed SE AC with a Yaqi Milano 316 SSP handle- Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range. Simple clamping system, small head parts(work on wash cloth to assemble). This little razor performs very well and is forgiving. I have used it about 100 + times over the last 2 years and it works well 95%> of the time for close comfortable shaves. Hade a close comfortable shave this morning. One of my favorite razors in SE .
Razor (R) : Yaqi " Romulus" 316SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle (5th shave)- Mfg 2023>, mild range. Well made and machining and finish QC are spot on. When shaving it feels non threatening & feels very nimble, tactile + forgiving in the hand when shaving. Small head parts when assembling work best on wash cloth, slightly easier to assemble than the Excalibur IMO. It is slightly less aggressive then my beloved Excalibur but results can be very similar and a enjoyable a shave IMO. Excellent daily driver for folks who have to shave for work or enjoy daily shaving. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade (L razor) : Schick proline (3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. I enjoy using this blade in the Excalibur.
Blade (R razor) : Schick proline (1) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. Works well in the Romulus also.
Soap : Speick Stick, nice mild spicy scent with excellent lather qualities. Great hard soap that is hard to beat for skin protection!
Brush : Yaqi "Red Zebra" 26mm snow leopard syntenic knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. One of my favorite brushes in 26mm synthetic's.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results (L razor): Dial 10.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.

Results (R razor): Dial 9.5.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = [IMG] Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus with a Schick proline p 30 blade. Had 5 continuous shaves now and mostly dialed in, great little razor.

    macaronus Sir Nice-a-Lot

So a local soap shop wanted to make their own shaving soap. And my hair dresser (a shaving nut) got a sample of the first batch. Guess what? He gave me the sample after having a go with it a few times himself. So tonight I tried it out. Not bad at all for a first try at making shaving soap.

    Prep: shower
    Razor: Schick model L
    Blade(s) : Schick II
    Brush: badger
Soap: Dutch Soap Company test batch 1
    Lather: face lathered
    Shave: 2-pass + touch-ups
Post: cold water rinse + alum

    Result: DFS

    Comments:

The hairdresser told me that the soap was quite dry, so I let it bloom a bit while I was under the shower. Smell is good (though I am unable to name it). Lather wasn't as thick as I wanted but also not as thin as I feared. It didn't dry too quick and the last squish from the brush was nice and thick. But I had a bit of skin irritation afterwards. That may be because I almost exclusively use shaving oil these days so I need to brush up my brush work. But all in all I think the soap maker will get there. To be continued therefore.
