    Razor: Merkur Futur
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Thater Stout 1
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: DR Harris Arlington
    A/S: Floid Suave

I enjoyed another excellent shave with the Futur/Polsilver combination. By the end of the shave the blade was showing subtle signs that it was nearing the end of its useful life. I'll change the blade tomorrow. If I could only have one soap from here on out, I would be content to use DR Harris Arlington. It is excellent! The Floid aftershave felt great for what is turning out to be a very warm fall day (80 degrees).

    Friday's Shave

'69 Gillette Super Adjustable, set to 4
    7 0'clock black (2nd shave)
    Provence Sante Vervain (3rd shave)
    omega 11047 (5th shave)
    humphrey's witch hazel
    Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm

Alright, backing up to my best shave to date, but changing only ONE variable this time.. too many things to try, so I'll settle-in to the much-advised "not messing with anything until my technique improves", once I get it out of my system! So, today I learned that 7 o'clock blacks are not for me... they tore the hell out of my face. The Personna Labs, with everything else being the same, were way better for my skin. I'm sure some of this is technique, but the feel on my skin is so drastic between these two blades, it can't be all technique.. lovin' the learnin', despite feeling a little raw!

    Sunday:

    Feather Artist Club SS
Vie Long N02 Extra Horse Hair Barber Brush
    Vitos Green Soap
    Alum Block
    Simple Moisturiser
    Pashana Bay Rum

Had to take it slow and careful. Used a new blade today so it was wickedly sharp. Thankfully no nicks or weepers!

    Yesterday's Shave (Saturday)

    Merkur Progress @ 3
    Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Omega Boar
    AOS PreShave Oil
    Queen of Charlotte Rose Croap
    Nivea ASB

Everything awesome...Almost. I once tried a Bic blade in my shavette to disastrous results, but realize that Personna's Magic Razor may not be the most forgiving medium for testing out new blades. So yesterday I loaded one into the progress and was pleasantly surprised by the sharpness - until my face starting bleeding from everywhere.

ok, not everywhere, but it definitely left its share of weepers on me. It feels sharp and I don't really feel any tugging, but it just seems to take my skin off. I did get a very close shave though...

Been out of the SOTD thread for a few days due to a cold. Nothing worse than trying not to sneeze while shaving with a straight so its been a quick maintenance shave in the shower with a Philishave, although to be frank the amount of stubble removed barely counted as a shave and it was far from comfortable.

Well the cold has all but cleared up now and boy was it good to get back to a decent shave; as near to BBS as I ever choose to get and no irritation. Absolutely great!

    Merkur Progress (2.5)
    Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Simpson Case (1!)
    AOS Lavender Preshave Oil
    Proraso Sensitive
    Trumpers Coral Skin Food

I'll keep this brief: The Bic is in the garbage (well, blade bank). The Case is abso-friggin-lutely fantastic on its maiden voyage, and even though covered in weepers, my face feels nice.

    The End.

    Sunday evening shave!

'69 Gillette Super Adjustable, set to 4
    Feather! (1st shave)
    Provence Sante Vervain
    omega 10029 (2nd time)
    humphrey's witch hazel
    Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm

I probably should have waited a third day before shaving again after that last massacre.. but I didn't! Instead, I figured I'd try the sharp one.. the Feather. Wow!! Just when I was thinking this might really be a bad idea, it was like there was nothing there.. this blade floated across my face like the name implied. Better for me than the Personna Lab, which I loved, and absolutely my closest, smoothest shave to date. Heck yeah!

Now I'm positive the 7'oclock blacks are not for my face.. with the Super Adjustable, anyway.
