I knew Stevie Ray when he was just a snot nosed little kid. I played some in a garage band with his brother Jimmy back in the early 60's. First time I heard Stevie play a guitar (around 12-years old) I knew he was destined for greatness. I miss him dearly and every year when I make my trip to the Dallas area I go to the cemetery where my parents are buried to take flowers, then go across the lawn to where Stevie is buried to pay my respects and say a little prayer.
gonna hit 50 in about 3 weeks. I've become quite comfortable and accepting that my old fartiness has arrived. Yep, HR PuffnStuff was a Sat morning favorite of mine. Remember Freddy the Flute?
Yes I remember *smile* Turn 50 in January, Obviously grew up in the same era, Things have certainly changed Happy Birthday (in case I miss it)
Yes. I do! 48 makes me a whipper snapper as well so that make my day. I also remember the Banana Splits, Speed Racer, and my favorite cartoon Space Angel. Johnny, you should be with me in remembering Icky Twerp (Bill Camfield) and Slam Bang Theater on KFJZ/KTVT Channel 11. Bill Camfield was a wonderful actor with a wide range including drama and comedy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Camfield
 Channel 11 was great in the day! Slam Bang Theater! What was the other one; Nightmare Theater or something? And of course, KLIF 1190!!
If we are going to remanence about old times in North Texas, we should probably start a thread in the Chatterbox section and not take the SoS any further off topic.
The real weird thing is that both of us have carpet burned elbows... AND my carpet burns are worse than hers... BONUS! I still had my clothes though... DOUBLE BONUS! Tying your wife up in a full nelson AND a firemans carry, while grabbing a fist full of ticklish ribs; PRICELESS! Don't blame me though; she started it!
Monday Edwin Jagger DE89 - Gillette Superthin blade - Palmolive soap in a ramekin - Vie Long Hoger - Alum That razor and that blade are a winning combo, for me. BBS in 2 passes and no sting from the alum.
That's some story Johnny (fellow guitarist here). Jimmy has fine chops of his own, and SRV is on every guitar players top three list. I am glad you r paying your respects. Tell him that he changed my life in more ways then one.
