Stirling MITA today. 30 seconds: load & go with the ER Silvertip. Viking’s Sword in the FH Tech. Great, smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Krampert’s Frostbite. Great all menthol start to the day!

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
    Razor: Schick G8 Injector
    Blade: Personna (1)
    Lather: L'Occitane Cade
    Brush: Oscar11 w/ Omega 20248 Knot
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Vintage Shulton Old Spice

Not a perfect shave, but more than satisfactory. I blame my technique. I haven't used this razor in a while and I didn't consistently have the correct angle. I guess I need to use it a little more often.

    Have a great day!

    Soap: Queen Charlotte signature scent
    Brush: L'Occitane Plisson synthetic
    Razor: Black beauty birth razor
    Blade: Feather
    AS: Queen Charlotte Balm
    Cologne: CO Bigelow White Elixir

I had some irritation on my neck and some tugging this morning, so I bailed on the Personna Red blade and went back to a Feather. Everything else performed well. I would prefer a more robust scent from the soap, but it is a nice complex scent. The dominant notes I pick up are vanilla and dark berries (maybe currant?).

    Pre- Corn Huskers
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Vulfix 660S Medium
    Razor - Merkur 34C
    Blade - Merkur (4 1/3), Astra SP (1 2/3)
    AS - Pinaud Clubman

After starting the shave with the Merkur blade, I was only able to complete my first WTG pass. Tugging and getting uncomfortable, and XTG pass 1 swipe and removed the blade and replaced with Astra SP. So my first test of the Merkur blade is, a good blade however not worth 5x the cost, for me.
Overall a very good shave. Performance of the Arko is good, but in my opinion, not the same league as L'Occitane Cade, Zi' Peppino or CO Bigelow. I will keep it in the den just because I really enjoy the Arko-Clubman combination scent.

    Prep:
Hot shower, Mike's Natural Bath Soap - Pumpkin Spice
    Razor: 1940-1950 Gillette Super Speed
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: B&B Omega Essential Boar
    Lather: TOBS - Jermyn Street
    Post: Alum stick, Dickinson's+

Austin Texas: Hit the road on Menthol Monday, no shave. Today's shave was OK for being out of my element. DFS on two passes plus clean up. Off to the River Walk and a visit to the Stevie Ray Vaugn statue. One of my favorite guitar players. Hope you had a great shave today.

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Black Tip W4, French Fau Frame Back straight razor
    Blade: Astra SP (6)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Ice blue after shave
Cologne: Tom Ford - Tuscan Leather and Tobacco Vanille

A Darn Good Shave this morning. It took longer than usual, but the Vie Long whipped up the MWF to a fine lather. The Frenchie did its work with ease. The Black Tip paired with the Astra was a mild and comfortable shaving combination. The AV brought some chill to the morning and the Tom Ford layering will keep me smelling great for the rest of the day.

    Have a blessed day!

    Tuesday!
    • Music: Nacht Und Nebel, Beats Of Love
    • Prep; hot washing cloth
    • Brush: Oscar11 w/ TGN A-grade silvertip badger
    • Soap: Cella
    • Razor: Gillette '66 Slim @progressive 5, 6 and 7
    • Blade: PolSilver (#5)
    • Shave: 3-pass + touch-up
    • Post: cold water rinse
First time with a quality badger brush. WOW! Way different than my (quality) boars and horse and way better than my Wilkinson Sword badger brush. The Wilkie is a bit floppy and scratchy, but the TGN knot is full, dense, soft and a joy to face-lather with! Oh, and it holds gallons of water! Amazing. I'm very glad I bought this knot. The handle has a nice grip to it and the combo (handle & knot) looks great as well. Needless to say I had a great shave! Not sure if I'm going to face-lather again tomorrow or if I'm going to bowl lather. We'll see...

    Tyr's Day:

Prep: Hot compress, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Obsidian
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
Blade: Big Ben Super Stainless (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (4, 5)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

Didn't shave yesterday, so I made today Menthol Monday, the Return. Unfortunately, scrimping on the prep and trying to bowl-lather the Stirling with my boar were not sound strategies for a good result, as the lather was sorely lacking, producing more discomfort than I'm used to from this razor. Two passes were sufficient for a frosty DFS, and I let it go at that.

Is that Pinaud bottle repurposed from another source or did it come in that decanter? I would enjoy having mine in such a bottle.
