    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Cream: Speick
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (8, 9, 10)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS Lotion
Cologne: Ispazon by Parfums de Marly

A little less time pressure this morning led, naturally, to better attention to detail, resulting in a much better experience than yesterday. I think I've worked out the angle and pressure needed for the FaTip/Bic combination, as the closest to a nick was re-opening yesterday's bleeder ever so slightly on the ATG pass. I wound up with a very comfortable BBS result other than that little weeper, and could probably have used the Bic for a 5th day without issue, if I weren't switching to a German theme for the upcoming week.

    Sunday

Prep: Hot shower, Dirigo Blue Aroostook PSO, hand strop blade
Coffee: Peet's Major Dickason's Blend, BLACK
    Cream: TSD Wheat Cream Cedarwood
    Brush: Omega 49, Big Red
    SE: Gem G Bar
Blade: CVS (by ASR), day 1, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's Rose Petal WH, hand strop blade

Not bad after missing yesterday's shave. A little rough along the jaw line, but that's pretty much par. I know better than to chase the baby ;)

A close shave, but this is my first and last use of the Shulton of India Old Spice SC. Something didn't agree with me.

    Prep: Warm shower, Noxema Cream
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair 12705
Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea for Men Sensitive ASB
    Cologne: Canoe

I read a suggestion somewhere to use Noxema as a preshave. I won't be doing that again. The combination of the Noxema and C.O. Bigelow was more cold than I like. The menthol lovers would probably really enjoy it.

This was my first time using the highly regarded Voskhod blade. All in all, it was a good blade. I don't think it is quite as sharp as my Personna Labs that I like so much, but it did a fine job and left me with an excellent shave.

    Have a great day!

    Sunday:

    Hot shower followed by:

Two hot towels and a facial massage and some more hot water
    #6 Horsehair
    Dovo Bismarck 5/8
    Arko Shaving Stick :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Balea Unscented Moisturizer
    Pinaud Bay Rum AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:

What a heavenly shave - there's nothing like taking your time even with your prep so that your skin and beard are completely ready, because this makes everything else fall right into place. The Arko stick really is Turkish delight - its scent is soapy and clean and the lather is a pleasure to work with. My wife and I have two completely opposite tastes where fragrances are concerned because she loves young and modern, and I love old-school. The Pinaud Bay Rum felt great when I slapped it on. ;) :D

I´m glad to get this soap.I never, and i mean never, had used a soap which was so good to my skin.A member in our German Forum creates the soap in his free time as a hobby. He is from Austria.Cheap, but fantastic soaps. For the first time i had used the Rapira Swedish Supersteel and i´m happy i did.Sharp and smooth.Without getting irritations or anything.Like it a lot.I just found out, that Olive Oil works very great for my skin.A few drops on your skin before lathering up and a few drops a few minutes after finishing your shave.Gives a really wonderful skin feel.
    Brilliant!!!
So Friends, enjoy your day and take care.
    Greetings
    Thorsten

    Cetaphil Face Bar
    DVH Puck
    EJ Best Medium
    Dovo Natural
    Witch Hazel

First time use with this Netherlands soap and I must say, I like it. I think the scent is rather nice and it develops a thick, yogurt like lather.:happy036:

5/8 Shapleigh HDWR, Full Hollow, Spike Point
    Proraso PSC
    Palmolive Classic SC
    GT G4 Scuttle
    Natural Bristle Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea Replenishing ASB
    Pinaud Lime sec EDC

Using some of the "forgotten ones" this morning. The Shapleigh is a great razor but gets overlooked a lot because it is a "Plain Jane". There is nothing lacking from it's performance though; close clean and comfortable shave every time. It is from a supplier in St. Louis which is where I was born, raised and lived most of my life so, it has a very positive connection for me. The lesser products like the simple boar brush, Palmolive SC and the Lime sec are outstanding products as well; they just don't have the prestige names and get the hype others seem to attract. At any rate, today's shave was wonderful and the "lessors" got their day in the Sun. :happy005:
