What a great shave - my eyes are still tearing a little from so much menthol. The Egyptian version of Ingram definitely out-freezes the British kind and itlathers even a little better. This Gillette balm is another good face-freezer, and it's hard to beat the Rubby Dubby Doo for that final icy blast. Sorry, no photos today. I'll make up for it tomorrow! ;) :D

    Thursday

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Spice Bath Soap
    Soap: Palmolive Menthol Cream-Italian
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim “6”
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip Badger 22x48
    Aftershave: Proraso Green

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

2nd shave with the Astra SP in the Slim. I used the Italian Palmolive Menthol cream today. This is a “go to” cream. The shave was close, but there were a couple gentle tugs XTG under the chin. I finished with the Proraso Green to keep with the Italian menthol theme.

Happy Thanksgiving……both here in the U.S.A. and also to our brothers and sister elsewhere!

Doubled up on the shaving cream again resulting in another great shave! Five shaves with this blade and it's not showing any signs of wear, so I'll keep it loaded and see what tomorrow brings.

Happy thanksgiving to those that are celebrating it!

Happy Thanksgiving. I thought I was going to be able to slip down to the shop for a while but it sounds like I'm going to be assistant cook instead. Nice shave today. Have a good one.

    THURSDAY
    Day 4 of Cream Week

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: Merkur Futur (set@3.5)
    Blade: Merkur Super
    Brush: Omega 48 Pro
    Lather: Speick cream; Scuttle-warmed
    Shave: Three passes, plus touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, Black River Bay Rum
    Pain Meds: 800mg Ibuprofun

Back to 'just' a DE this morn & the 1st time with the Speick cream in a while. It produces a nicely-scented, slick lather that I find appealing.
EASY shave with Futur—the best adjustable I've had the pleasure of using. Depending upon the setting, the Futur is a mild as I wish it to be, or as aggressive as a rabid raccoon. ;)

A day of joyous thanks, being with family, eating good food, and watching the NFL… :happy093:

    Have a blessed Thursday, all!

    Ten Shaves day six
Prep: warm shower, Shea moisture scrub, Proraso PSC
    Soap: LA Shavings Woody Lavender
    Brush: HIS Synthetic
    Razor: Maggard MR10
    Blade: Gillette 7o'clock yellow
    Post: Krampert's Finest Frostbite

DFS. Nice, easy shave today. I realized that if I take the soap and smear it in the bottom of my bowl, the scent really blooms while I lather! It still doesn't last very long, but while shaving it was much nicer and easier to enjoy the scent.

Erik, how have you been enjoying the Merkur blades?
These tend to be on everyone's 'No Thanks!' list of blades, but my experience with them has been nothing but positive. I've gotten 10-12 quality shaves from a single blade (just to test the blade's lifespan).

    Soap: Stirling Glacial
    Razor: ’63 Gillette Slim “6”
    Blade: Voskhod (4)
    Brush: Homemade Silvertip Badger
    Aftershave: Speick

Didn't attempt a BBS, but got a AFS anyway. The Glacial is a wonderful soap, but I got too much water this time and got soapy suds rather a rich lather, but it was slick enough that I didn't have to worry about irritation. The Speick smells good on a Thanksgiving morning. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

They perform pretty well for me, but not as well as the Astra SP's or Personna Blue's, both of which are dirt cheap. I like the Feathers and Viking Sword blades better too. The only razor I've tried them in is the EJ DE89, and they may be better in a different razor. I had heard that a lot of people didn't care for them, so I was pleasantly surprised they were OK. I've had three shaves with my first blade, and I think it's time to replace though.

    Thursday:
    hot shower
    Shave Secret PSO
    Maggard MR4 3 passes
    Feather Hi Stainless Platinum (2)
    VDH boar
TOBS Avocado cream (sample) in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    Alum
    T&H Grafton AS balm

Very nice shave today. Hadn't used the MR4 in quite awhile. It's a fairly mild razor with quite a bit of heft so you have to be careful and just let the weight of the razor do the work. Unfortunately it shaves so smooth that I got going too fast and nicked myself. 1st time using TOBS Avocado cream and I whipped up a prodigious amount of luscious lather. You just have to get past thinking you're shaving with guacamole and you'll be rewarded with a very special skin sensation. Now I know why women use it for facials.

    Thursday.

Face washed and scrubbed with L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energy.
    Mühle R89 coupled with Viking's Sword (4).
Haslinger Ringelblumen (Marigold) soap whipped with Semogue 1520 boar in Steve Woodhead mug.
3 passes (WTG/XTG/XTG) followed by luke rinse, Ajanta alum applied for 1 minute, then rinsed off with cold water.
Finished off with Nivea for Men Sensitive after shave balm.

Pleasant pleasant shave! A little sting from the alum, but the passes went so well I got cocky during 2. and 3. pass - also my face got a good scrub, so prior shaving my skin was a tiny bit sore already. So it had to sting a little bit in the end. I've gotten good control over my shaves I think, but it has helped a lot that I have now only products in rotation that works 112% perfect for me. I've quit spending time with products that doesn't perform to my satisfaction, no matter how much it's regarded by others or well-priced. So my inventory has shrunken quite a bit  Now I just need to trade off the goods my face is not in love with :)

    Gillette Adjustable 'Fatboy' F-2 (1960)
Astra Superior Platinum blade (day 2)
    Brut shaving cream
    Walgreens Witch Hazel
    Gillette Cool Wave

Wow, with the Gillette Fatboy and the Brut my wife bought for me yesterday, I had a fantastic close comfy shave! For the first pass I set the Fatboy on 3, and dialed down to 2 for the final pass and light touch-up, wow! Just right! Aces!
