    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Personna Lab (1)
    Soap: RazoRock Nonno Michelino

    Aftershave: Old Spice

I got up early this morning and spent the morning smoking a turkey. Once it was done, I had about an hour before guests were scheduled to arrive. I took a quick shower to wash off the smoke smell and then enjoyed a wonderful shave. It was one of those days where everything just worked perfectly and I finished with a terrific DFS+. Any shave that I finish with Old Spice is a good one because the scent always reminds me of my father. I miss him every day, but especially on holidays.

I'm a very fortunate man and very thankful that I'm surrounded by my family today and that we all have our health. Thank you, God!

    Have a great Thanksgiving Day!

I haven't been using my Single Edged razors much in the last few months. Especially since I now do most of my shaving in a different bathroom (my SE gear was in the other bathroom). So, I put a big portion of it together to put in the cabinet in the bath I have been using so I could utilize these wonderful tools.
For some reason I couldn't get great pictures of this razor to show it's pristine condition but, I hope you get the idea of it's beauty.
    ~ GEM Heavy Flat Top.
~ Vintage Treet Super blade on the first shave.
~ D.R. Harris Arlington shave soap.
~ Vintage Kingsley badger brush (vintage).
~ Clinique moisturizer followed by Murray & Lanman Florida Water Cologne.

All in all a great shave. However I really should have loaded just a little more D.R. Harris into the Kingsley. Being that it is a pretty big knot and I'm a little out of practice using an SE so I could have used just a touch more protection.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Three days ago the knot on my Frank Shaving badger brush fell out. I cleaned it up and glued it back in, and today, it is back in action. It is a good thing, too, because it is my favorite badger brush. It did an excellent job of face-lathering the Proraso Green with two passes. The GEM MMBT did an equally excellent job of removing all my whiskers with no irritation. Finished off this shave with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. Feeling clean, smooth, and refreshed.

I saw "Go Dawgs!" and got excited, then I realized it was the wrong Dawgs. I'm a big UGA fan.

My first go with a straight razor of any kind. It was awkward to say the least. I ended up with an acceptable shave, but I'm very patchy overall. I cut myself a few times. Overall, today's shave was not very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this shave with the older version of Proraso Green soap - it lathered up beautifully for me and delivered a good and strong menthal sensation. Attention all menthol lovers - this Vifrex gel is FRIGID and it has an awesome scent with a lot of skincare. I cannot be without the Aqua Velva because it's so good. By the way, I thought I'd mention that the Shark blades from Egypt are excellent. ;) :D

Have a great weekend, folks! :)

3rd shave with the Astra SP in the Slim. I used Speick cream today. Great cream, and I like the scent. The shave was close and smooth, better than yesterday. I finished up with Clubman today.

I have another Wusthof that should go into rotation in the next day or two, just need to pin the blade and sharpen. I like these Wusthofs', nice shavers. Have a good one.

    Prep: Warm shower, Homemade PSO
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Personna Lab (2)
Soap: Noname Soap, Arko Ice Mint Cream
    Brush: VDH Boar
Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea for Men Sensitive ASB
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

I started this shave with a shave soap that my wife picked up from a local artisan. This is about the 5th time I've given this soap a try and have had good results only once. The lather whipped up nicely, but as I was shaving, it became very dry and was not very slick. After an uncomfortable 1st pass, I decided to dump it. Arko to the rescue! The Arko did it's usual superb job and allowed me to finish up with a DFS.

I know I'm getting a late start compared to most of the other lunatics, but I'm off into the Black Friday madness. Gotta go find my son a new bass guitar.

    Have a great day!

    (Black) Friday

Face washed with Neutral bar soap.
Gillette Rubie coupled with Viking's Sword (5).
Proraso Cutting Edge brushless shaving gel applied by hand.
2 passes (WTG/XTG) followed by luke rinse and wash cloth.
Finished off with Proraso Cutting Edge after shave balm.

Why this weird combo? It's my travel kit :) Well this and the other kit with the Gillette Guard instead (depends on carry-on vs. check-in luggage). Not a bad shave, but it's not that good either. I think I applied too much gel, as the razor seemed to pass on top of much of it. But nevertheless nice to try the combo, before sitting in a hotel and having to try it for the first time. Barely a DFS but passable for the day.
