This shave was so satisfying and smooth I have to reconsider my ideas about the DE razor. I never thought or imaged a DE could be so comfortable and effortless. This Fatboy is simply amazing. I started at 4, second pass at 3, and touch-up at 2. Perfect! My face was humming with ease and smooth cut of the Astra. Now I know why my previous DE shaves were lacking. It was my LATHER. Using canned cream and gel works SO well for me I think I'm going to use those for awhile. Aces!

Very nice shave today. The Cella is very pleasing to the skin and the smell. I lathered in a bowl today with the Parker badger brush. Two passes and touch-ups on the neck with the GEM MMBT left me with a near BBS shave. I topped it off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman AS. Nice.​

I too have realized the importance of lather. It made me reconsider my, growing, arsenal of shaving soaps and creams (I was having way too many mediocre shaves). Not all worked equally well. I'm now down to a few soaps and creams that do work wonders every time.

I had to put my ten shaves project on hold for a bit while I try out my gifts.

Prep: warm shower, face wash with Shea Moisture scrub
Soap: TSD Signature Lanolin
Brush: HIS Synthetic
Razor: Maggard MR10
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock yellow
Post: cold rinse, TSD Signature Aftershave Milk

My face feels great! DFS+ I didn't shave yesterday, so the extra length of whiskers probably helped, not to diminish the soap. My initial impressions are good ones. The soap smells strong in the bowl, weaker on my face, but it lathers well and quickly. I had to add more water than I thought, but I'm still learning the sweet spot.

The milk is an excellent product, especially for colder months. It has Shea oil, which really works well with my skin, and I like the signature scent (bergamot and bay rum). The consistency is thin, so I can apply it to the skin under my mustache and beard more easily than a creamy liquid. Plus, my stache preserves the scent a little longer!

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

4th shave with the Astra SP in the Slim. I used the TSD Blue Juniper cream today. The shave was close and smooth. I finished up with the matching Blue Juniper AS and cologne.

My "new" Wusthof. It took a very nice edge and provided a smooth, close and comfortable shave. The Petal Pushers Fancies lathered well and provide a good nickless shave, skin care seems good but I'll need a few more shaves to see for sure. Have a good one.
