I scored this new lather mug from my boss, and wanted it to make its shave of the day debut. Cold River Classic Barbershop is a winner with a great scent. Have good one gents.

Was that razor sold by Sears back in the day?

Consider going cool/cold water for all steps. I feel it helps me avoid irritation, and like you I notice the cold steel. I think the cold steel makes me more aware of how I am manipulating the razor. Helps me "feel" the blade, in a good way, hard to put to words. Glad you had a good shave!

Sir, that is a classy looking razor! I assume it's carbon steel. Nice finish.

Traveling with a Mastro Livi Damasteel Ladder

This time I am traveling with two Mastro Livi straight razor: Grifetto and this Damasteel Ladder. They are both magnificent shavers, I love Grifetto but I admit the pattern of this Damasteel ladder is absolutely fascinating. As for the shave, it shaves absolutely great and I love the feedback Damasteel provides in shaving: it is more aggressive than Grifetto while providing the very same smooth and deep shave. After all, it is a Mastro Livi...

Carbon Steel blade. GRS = Gebrüder Richartz & Söhne, a Solingen Knife shears and razor manufacturer, founded circa 1900; still in business today.
The razor has the name 'Richartz Solingen Germany' stamped on the tang.

I believe the company was affiliated with Sears & Roebuck, as Sears also had other razor manufacturers such as ERN (below), make 'Craftsman' razors for them.

Yesterday's shave was cooling and smooth, today's shave was mega-freezing and BBS. The Glacial Wintergreen soap is from the absolute King of the Menthol Freeze Your Face family. No other mentholated soap can match it, or even compete with it - not even the Yeti Snot. The lather is a joy to work with and the scent, to me is heavenly. The Gold Bond moisturizer moisturizes and gives sensitive skin great cooling and soothing, and the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel kicks the Rubby Dubby Doo's butt in terms of menthol power and skincare. My Super Speed shaves me so much more effortlessly and closer than my Micro-Touch. ;) :D

Have you ever been experienced? Well, I have. (Couldn't resist)
Since I love Maggard's London Barbershop soap, I ordered the matching aftershave. Usually I pair Aqua Velva Ice Blue Sport with this soap, but I was curious to see how this soap maker would handle aftershave.
The scent match is perfect and the face feel is very calming and smooth. I miss the menthol of the AV, but I am a menthhead. I could buy some menthol to add if I wanted, I suppose. Overall, this was a great shave. I feel confident recommending this aftershave to anyone who prefers no alcohol or menthol - this one is all smooth comfort with a great barbershop scent.

Cool morning outside, so the warm lather was greatly appreciated, however, for the first time with this soap, I ended up with it being light and a little airy, so I loaded up more soap on the brush and it slicked right up.

3 pass shave and I'm looking as good as I will for the rest of the day.

    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso Green
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)

Great shave today! Ridiculous amounts of lather from the Proraso Green and as always it was a top shelf lather. The Treet Platinum started out strong in the Aristocrat, but didn't perform to well in the Slim Twist yesterday. Today's pairing with my WW2 issued Tech was a winning combination. DFS+ in two passes and I'm off to battle the day!

    Aftershave: British Sterling

I had such a great shave yesterday, I decided on a repeat performance for all hardware and software this morning. The only difference is that I used British Sterling aftershave rather than Old Spice. Today's shave was every bit as good as yesterday's. I think the blade is about done, though. It is still smooth, but just not cutting as well as a newer blade.

Even with these great results, I think I'll probably change out everything tomorrow. Maybe I'll go back to a DE razor. Or maybe a different injector. Perhaps a soap rather than a cream. Decisions, decisions!

    Have a great day!

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Asco SS (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (10, 11, 12)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Yesterday I woke up late enough that I could either grab my coffee, or my shave, before class; coffee wins that tug-of-war. That meant I had plenty of stubble to attack with the Asco on day 4 of its use. The Neutrogena Deep Clean does a better job of 'setting up' and softening my beard for shaving than the other facial washes I use, but it's a bit too intense for daily use. The One-X continues to lather like a dream, though I was a bit less liberal with how long I loaded the brush today.

On the other hand, the Asco SS was definitely on its last day. It scraped and tugged more than I wanted, and gave a couple of bloodless warning bites at my skin. BBS results, but the blade is retired. Tomorrow I'll have the FaTip/Bolzano loaded and ready, so hopefully the pointers I gave to @maltedmilk on how I find success with this notorious razor won't come back to haunt me with a bad shave for Thursday.
