Tuesday Coffee - Folgers Razor - Gem Micromatic Blade - Gem PTFE Stainless Brush - Copper Hat 22mm Silvertip in Ebony Cream - Proraso Green tube A/S - F/P Gel balm Scent - Pinauds Bayrum First shave ever with an se. Not good. 2 passes and nothing was being knocked down, poor angle I guess. Tried to wrap up with my Rolls but it was to late, the damage was done, 1 more pass was all I could take, so with a patchy burnt face it's off to work for the day. 1 out of 5. More Gem experimenting required.
So glad you like it! Hang in there, Brad. You'll get it. I've found the biggest key is NO PRESSURE. "More Gem experimenting required." I love the attitude!

Tuesday, November 09, 2010 Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Supermax Super Stainless Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L Soap: Penhaligon Blenheim Bouquet (tallow formula) A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Mr. Taylor Splash First shave with a Supermax and, while not quite BBS, it was comfortable and quite acceptable. The Penhaligon soap, as usual, made a nice lather and the Mr. Taylor splash was a pleasant way to end the shave.
I think those were the late 70s/early 80s, some of the last DEs made by Gillette, but I am in no way an expert.

Generally because posting the same gear everyday is considered by me time better spent. Same brush, same razor, same brand of blades just about every day. I do post the occasional SoS though. Usually when I've had an awesome very enjoyable shave.
