    THURSDAY
Back-to-Work shave early this morning using my old reliable Böhler-Stahl Round point. Great, slick Route 66 lather (loving the citrusy-orange scent); finished with the bite of Snake Bite.
    Have a great Thursday, all!

    SHAVE OF THE DAY WEDNESDAY
    sotd82.jpg

    PREP: MUSGO REAL ORANGE AMBER
    RAZOR: GILLETTE BALL END TECH
    BLADE: LASER SUPER PLATINUM
    BRUSH: OMGEA S SYNTHETIC
    SOAP: MAMA BEARS BRITISH LEATHER
    POST: WHOLLY KAW JAMESTOWN GENTLEMAN

Had a decent 3 pass shave, Mama Bear's whipped up a nice lather and the scent is great. The Laser blade is still going strong, I have tried several blades recently that were very good but don't get a lot of love around here. Finished with Jamestown Gentleman for a great post shave. Have a great shave everyone!

Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep
    Soap: Route 66-Bourbon Jungle
    Razor: Gillette Fat Boy
Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Blue Super Platinum (5)
    Brush: Thater Silvertip-26mmx55mm
Aftershave: Burberry Brit AS Balm & EdT

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Route 66 Bourbon Jungle again today. 20 seconds to load the Thater Silvertip. Easy, thick, slick, lather. This is a very good soap. 7 O’Clock Blue SP still in the Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Burberry Brit.

    Schick J1 razor
    Personna blade
    FS Silver Tip brush
St. James of London Mandarin&Patchouli SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
St. James of London Mandarin&Patchouli cologne

The St James SC smells fantastic and lathered easily but didn't provide me with the cushion I like. Will try again tomorrow I think. And the St. James cologne is very soothing and smell even better than the SC.

The '47 Gillette Milord was a real shaving find. The finish has a nice patina without appearing worn. The sticky knurling, provided a secure grip, even when wet. The diameter of the handle is slightly smaller than I would wish, but adequate. The balance is good. The blade exposure is on the aggressive side, although I never felt like a cut was imminent. Audio feedback is strong. Blade is held securely. Tore through 48hrs growth for a BBS.

This was my setup for yesterday, but I decided to switch it up and use a milder DE. I'm back on track, and sticking with straights til the end of the month. Quick an easy 2 pass.
On a side note, I thought it was pretty cool seeing all of the green lights for veterans day while driving through my neighborhood.

    Have a good one gents.

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Black Tip, H. Boker straight razor
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: RazoRock - Don Donato
After: Home made ASB, Grey Flannel after shave balm
    Cologne: Grey Flannel EDT

It is Friday eve. The Don Donato was whipped into a very nice lather by the Vie Long brush. The Black Tip paired with the GSB blade seemed a little rough, but did the job well. The Boker was smooth as always. The Grey Flannel ASB and the Grey Flannel EDT were a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave +.

    Have a blessed day!

With these excellent products it's no surprise that today's shave was nothing less than stellar. The great scent (and performance) of the CRSW Fall is making me re-evaluate my soaps, there may be a culling soon. Perhaps it's the season that is making me not want to use some of my more cologne-esque scents.

I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll do it here. Due to our mirror placement and bathroom lighting, I can't get a decent view of my neck or jawline after a shave. I'm often quite dissapointed when I see myself in the rear view mirror. Can you make any recommendations? Do the circular mirrors with the lights around them help?

Naw, nothing helps me when I don't like what I see in the mirror.

Best way to view the side and back is a second wall mounted mirror that can pull out and swivel. They are widely available. You can use it to reflect up and see the underside of the jaw.

Nice hat. I must get more hats.
