Razor/Blade: Gillette Canadian Heavy Tech / Astra SP
    Brush/Soap: Semogue / Valobra
    Aftershave: Witch Hazel/coconut oil
    Mustache Wax: Badger
Great shave this morning. Love this Valobra soap...a lather monster. One tiny nick :angry032: on my neck. First one in a long time, :angry019: Pity...everything was going just fine. A dab of styptic pencil and all is well. :happy088: Enjoy your Sunday gents..:chores016:

    GOOD MORNING TSD! SOTD 11 / 15/ 15

    RAZOR - GEM 1912
    BLADE-GEM
    BRUSH-VDH BOAR
    LATHER-BODY NATURE STONE WASH
THREE PASSES - COLD WATER RINSE, WITCH HAZEL SPLASH, NIVEA POST SHAVE BALM

Another BBS shave, The Gem 1912 always gives me a great shave. I'm always amazed at the audio feedback from this razor. The Body Nature soap lathers nicely it isn't as slick as other soaps but still works well if you keep adding water. All in all a really good shave.:)

HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY EVERYONE! :eatdrink013:

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Nivea for Men Original Moisturizing Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
Lather: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap (with mango butter)
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel & aloe vera pad, Myrsol Metilsol AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

Only two passes today, even though I had a couple days' stubble, because I put a fresh blade in. The Ginger's Garden produced more than enough lather, especially for two passes, as usual. I could definitely feel the difference in sharpness with a new blade, compared to how the old one had felt. Two passes produced DFS result, with aftercare provided by the aloe vera-enhanced Thayer's (good stuff), and the Myrsol Metilsol (still not sure about the scent, but the postshave feel is great).

    Hot shower
    Proraso Preshave (white)
    Plisson Synthetic
RazoRock Brain Freeze + KMF Key Lime (face lathered)
    Merkur 34c w/Gillette Silver Blue (2)
    W, X1, X2, touch up
Cold rinse, cold towel, witch hazel, styptic, L'Oreal Balm, Stetson Sierra Cologne

I used my mildest razor, a great blade, awesome lather...and ended up with 2 dozen weepers. The shave felt smooth, with no nicks, no need to work hard at the touch ups, but my post-shave towel looked like a map of the stars done in red. 20 minutes later I have a great deal of redness on my neck.

Mastro Livi Damascus "100 Layers", 13/16 Extra Full Hollow, Square Point

It was quite a long time I was not using this Mastro Livi "100 Layers" straight razor. It is an extra full hollow ground razor made of Mastro Livi carbon damascus and certainly one of the best singers I have in my collection. The blade is super thin, giving this razor a beautiful voice. Simply amazing how Mastro Livi can get such a very thin cutting edge and blade by just using his hands and grinding wheels. This razor has juniper scales and with its Mediterranean smell absolutely gives an exclusive touch to the shave. I also used my Mastro Livi "Pennello Italiano" (Italian Brush) a great silvertip badger brush absolutely super performing in mounting soap lather. The finishing touch has been given by Old Spice Original after shave, a classic fragrance with a lovely soothing and cooling effect on the skin.
    • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Tabac Shaving Soap
    • Brush: Mastro Livi Silvertip Badger "Pennello Italiano" - 24 mm knot
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi Damascus "100 Layers", 13/16 Extra Full Hollow, Square Point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extravirgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Old Spice Original

Strong & Scottish, well it certainly is strong. You get a nice hint of whiskey then a pretty heavy scent of peat (smokey) and that's what your left with. I could see a lot of people think this one's nasty but being a fan of vetiver I kind of like it. Great lather and a very nice shave today. Have a good one.

Brian H and Brian K have such awesome face-freezing products. I had a wonderful freeze from Brian H's Polar Vortex soap, and another one from Brain K's Frostbite aftershave. In between, the Lucky Tiger a/s cream acted like a nice, cooling pussycat on my face and I ended up BBS and so comfortable! :happy088: :happy088:

    SOTD for Sunday November 15th................

TOBS Avocado face lathered w/Country Uncle Silvertip
Hoffritz Slant w/a fresh Derby blade (My 1st time using a slant and it's a very aggressive razor even when paired w/a Derby blade. I really felt the "sting" when I applied the alum)
Osma alum finishing with Fine Platinum A/S

2-passes w/touch-up for a near BBS! The Hoffritz Slant gave a great shave but too aggressive (for me anyway) as an everyday shaver..........
