    Fun shave today!
My good friend @Bama Samurai hooked me up with some traditional US stuff. Thanks, Chris!
I thinned the goo with some water and whipped it with my brush.
Got a really nice lather, although it wasn't quite as stable as I'm used too.
Glide was amazing and protection quite good as well. Easy to rinse off too.
The after shave on the other hand... wow it stinged and burned a few seconds after it was applied.
I don't know if it's an after the shave effect with the goo or there is something in the splash my skin doesn't like.
Luckily no redness or anything, only the burn. Here an hour after my skin feels a bit dry.
Nevertheless I enjoyed the shave. Barbasol seems way better than the cheap goo we have here around.

Y'know, as a boy approaching my teens(I suppose at the time I was beginning to learn the importance of good personal hygiene), I bought Yardley "Soap-on-a-rope),. I liked the smell, all right.

    NOVember - NO Variation

    November 9

Razor - Feather SS AC Pain Stick
    Blade - [IMG](1)
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post - Cold Water, Alum, Aloe

A new Monday morning and a new blade in the Feather SS. Same soap, brush etc. since it's NOVember. I found myself looking at my Vie-Long 12601 longingly this morning but BoS it is. The pony gets to stay in the pasture this month.

The lather was instant success this morning. And, the first pass was amazingly smooth and comfortable. And effective! Seems like I settled right in on the angle and just made it work. Finished the WTG with a DFS on the face and CCS on the neck. Decided to just worry about the neck so lathered the jawbone down. Then, added a little up the right cheek just to make sure. Yeah, when I start thinking I usually get myself in trouble. Started up by the ear and set the razor to start and went too vertical on it. ZING!! That little burn that tells you with one of these that the blood is on the way. The amount of pressure necessary to cause this is so tiny it's unbelievable it can happen. But if the blade is a hair too vertical and you lay it on the skin expect Sweeney Todd to make an appearance.....or is it BENJAMIN BARKER?!?!?!?!!? The blood was rushing down my face, I grabbed a towel and it soaked through......oh who am I kidding. It's one of those Feather Pro slices that takes a minute to remember to bleed, then just gets annoying about it for a few minutes until you hit it with cold water and alum. All's well.

Finished the neck and ended with a DFS after two passes, well one and a half we'll say. Very impressive performance on the new blade. I could definitely tell a difference from the 7th shave on the old blade yesterday. That shave was still far better than any other blade I've tried with that much use on it, but the fresh Pro really reminds you of the quality and precision you're playing with.

    Have a great Monday!

    image.jpeg Razor: Feather AS-D2 2015
    Brush: Stirling Synthetic 26/63 2015
    Mug: Van Der Hagen
Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Nivea Men Post Shave Balm, Pinaud Clubman AS

Day 2 of shaving my Dads way, as I think of him with Veterans Day coming up.

Dipped the Stirling in hot water and whipped up some good thick lather with the Stirling and the Maca root cream left over in the mug. Plenty of lather for a quick 2 pass shave. Finished with the WH, and then some Nivea. Rinsed the razor with the blade still in it, and hung it up to dry. I left the brush in the mug with the remaining cream and put it aside for tomorrow as my Mom said my Dad would do. That was the fastest shave I can remember. It was a little strange rewhipping the cream from yesterday, but all is good. So far so good Dad! Y'all have a good one!

    11/9/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Cobra Classic, AJ Jordan The Celebrated Hollow Ground straight razor
    Blade: Feather Professional (2)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Arko Ice Mint
    After: Home made ASB
    Cologne: Grey Flannel EDT

Welcome to Menthol Monday! The Arko Ice Mint shave cream was whipped up nicely by the #6 brush. The Cobra and the AJ Jordan had no trouble knocking down the 2 days worth of stubble. The Grey Flannel was a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

I had to apply a facial cream this evening. Face still felt dry.

I have a feeling it's the goo that's not giving proper face care. Will test tomorrow or soon with the usual good soap and then try the splash and see if it's any different.
