    Irisch Moos Shave

    Tuesday

Razor: Cooncat Bob Burl Composite with Merkur Head
    Blade: Iridium Super
    Brush: Shavemac 2007 LE
    Pre-Shave: Kell's Original Turkish Mocha Pre-shave Soap
    Soap: Irisch Moos Shave Stick
    A/S: Trumper's Wellington

After searching long and far for Irisch Moos I finally found it at the Dutch Shaving Shop. Three weeks after ordering, it finally arrived.

As advertised, the Irisch Moos produced a Tabac-like lather with a quasi Irish Spring scent. The Cooncat Bob razor with a new Super Iridium blade cut through my whiskers like a hot knife through butter producing an irritation free BBS shave. Like Tabac, the Irisch Moos left my face feeling soft and moisturized...it is excellent stuff. The Trumper's Wellington made me think that I need to get a larger bottle...very nice indeed.

    Tuesday Shave

    Tuesday, October 27, 2009

    Razor: Merkur Progress XL
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Soap: Honeybee Spa Cherry Pipe Tobacco
    Brush: Vulfix 2006 Pure Badger
A/S: Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood

IMO I get a thicker, more luxurious, lather from tallow-based soaps. However, as they say, “The proof is in the pudding”, and I certainly enjoyed a great shave this morning using the Honeybee Spa, which I have melted into a vintage Old Spice mug.

The Ogallala BR&S provided an excellent finish.

Easier said than done, my friend. For me anyway. I'm going back to the drawing board this coming week and I'm going to take things as simply and slowly as possible.

You must be in an entirely different league than I.

I've very thick skin that doesn't get irritated shaving. It's my hair which, if it's cut ATG, causes problems.

I can use any razor WTG and XTG without a problem.

I always wished I could go ATG but ever since switching to DE, it's rather enjoyable shaving daily.

    Good morning, gents

    Palmshave brushless
    Omex with Gillette #2
    Adam balm
    s.Oliver Gold EdT

Nice fast shave. The Omex is a mild shaver. I would say it's milder than Merkur but more aggressive than Gillette SS

    Glycerin Pre-shave
    Gillette Slim Adjustable
    Omega 49
    VDH Deluxe
    Dickinsons WH
    Clubman Bay Rum

Curiosity finally got the best of me so I decided to try 5 or 6 drops of glycerin applied directly to the face a la pre-shave oil. I then lathered the VDH Deluxe over the top. The results were absolutely wonderful! Even though I used the black sheep of my razor rotation today. Must confess that this is maybe the best shave of my life, or definitely top three. This glycerin pre-shave thing certainly bears further investigation but I'd give this morning's shave BBS+. Bob Marley on tunes (which seems to happen alot on Bay Rum day):

Once again, my face is good and frozen, however: I don't find the Osage Rub to be quite as cold as JoAnna's Iced Subzero milk. It's still a delightful mentholated aftershave, and it helped to cool off the razor burn I got, because this Sharp blade is absolutely finished. All in all, a good shave. ;) :D

I can really start to feel the Sharpedge in the Chatsworth,,,it must be due for a change...I lost track of days but it is at least 7 and time to go...the Lea was OK...enough for a very close to if not a BBS shave.
