@du212: How'S the horsehair compared to badger? I have a Vie Long barber's horse (the brush in the middle)

The Hair looks very different and is real soft.

Nice and quick shave

 

The horsehair is stiffer than badger, and the tips are not as soft as super badger or boar (when the tips are broken), for me it seems to pure badger. The badger holds more water.

I prefer boar or badger to horsehair

When I'm in a rush, the Ming Shi seems to be the best razor. It's very gentle, but it also shaves very close, smooth and comfortable.

First shave in about four days... I think I was using the feather/futur combo a bit too often. I didn't have the normal razor burn or bumps, but my face looked raw. All back to normal now...

I love it when the Speick shave stick comes up in rotation. I rubbed it on my wet face and used my newly acquired Shavemac 22369 long handled brush to face lather. As usual, the Speick produced a rich fragrant lather with boatloads of cushion and glide. I enjoyed an excellent shave and finished it off with a scent that is representative of the grandpa era. Perfect!

A/S: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel/Pinaud Virgin Islands Bay Rum

BBS shave this morning--I was rather surprised. One weeper, though. The Red Tip is a very capable razor, although I prefer the more modern razors with longer handles. The Wool Fat played a major role in the shave, I think. Great stuff!

The Pinaud Bay Rum provided its usual great “wake up” finish.

Ohhhhh I like this Halloween colors, in Spain we doesn't have Halloween tradition, but in my village we celebrate a similar tradition: Txingurri .... the children go singing house by house and the people give them candys,.....and everybody eats toasted chestnuts near the church...
