I already ordered the Lime Sec, several days ago, and it only cost a little over $6 for 12 oz, and the samples people were selling, with shipping, were just a little less. So, if I like it, I will have a lot to use. If I don't like it, I have a lot to PIF.

    Gillette Slim
    Gillette Silver Blue
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Musk

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Musgo Real Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #235 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gillette Slim razor and Gillette Silver Blue blade on seven and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Cartridge Razor DISTRACTION
RAZOR: TopCare (Dorco Pace 6 Blade Handle - SXA1000)
BLADE: TopCare 6 blade (Pace 6 Cartridges)- this blade had been used maybe 6-7 years ago then put away.
PREP: hot shower with Zest Soap followed by hot water face rinse
BRUSH: SheaMoisture Ultimate Shave Brush - black badger knot. Plenty of rich lather.
PRE-SHAVE: used bloom water from AOS Cream - I floated some water on the top of the cream
*AND my shave smoothing secret weapon - Rite Aid Renewal Skin Cleansing Cream
SHAVE CREAM: The Art of Shaving - Lavender Essential Oil - for Sensitive Skin - bowl lather
    POST SHAVE: Hot water rinse
    AFTER SHAVE: Clubman Lilac Vegetal
BALM: Maison the Collection Vanilla Lavender Lotion
    Dorco_Pace_SheaMoisture_AOS_Lavender2.jpg
Since the razor & blade were used and put away years ago, a thorough cleaning was in order, including an isopropyl alcohol soak.
Bottom line, I got a very fine 4 pass BBS shave with touchups. This razor is better than the Caliber 5 disposable that I used recently.
BUT... it is a big honkin' 6 blade cartridge razor. It gives a totally different experience than my more traditional equipment.
The cartridge is suspended off the end of the handle, under some kind of spring tension. You really don't have much control over the blade angle or the pressure against the skin. If you try to get too close, the cartridge just flexes when you push it. So, I ended up taking many strokes per pass because.

I may have over done it. I had a little razor burn by the end of the shave. Felt like I had to really work hard to get a close shave.
I'll need to learn better how to finesse a close shave out of this system, but I am confident - it can be done.

Really, I am interested in trying out other blade configurations with this handle. Dorco Pace has a patented common docking technology.
Which means I will be able to use any 3, 4, 6, 6+ or 7 blade cartridge with my TopCare (Pace) 6 handle.
We'll see how that goes. ;)

    Head Shave Only:
    Pre-shave: hot shower
Shave Cream: Barbasol Sensitive Skin travel size can http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...m-travel-can-experiment-sensitive-skin.57755/
    (augmented with Barbasol Soothing Aloe)
Razor: Schick Krona, metal silver knob
    Blade: Personna (4)
Post-shave: Dickinson WH, Gillette AS Gel, Gillette Cool Wave AS

I'm letting my beard grow this month so no face shaves... unless the itching gets so bad that I beg my wife to allow me to shave. Nevertheless, I will shave my head occasionally this month.
Since I've been enjoying my shaves with my latest Schick Krona (the one on the right) I pulled out my first Schick Krona (the one on the left) and loaded with the Personna blade I've been using this week I had a very close, comfortable shave. I did nick my scalp slightly but that was completely my fault. I got careless for a split second... but that's all it takes. Have a great month everyone!

No. I've never been a big musk fan, but try them now and again. I might give some Aqua Velva Musk a sniff, the next time I'm in the store.

I love the Krona, I have 3 and 1 is the gold spirit of 76.... Also the gillette aftershave splash is criminally underrated.

Sweet! I haven't seen the gold spirit before. I just got the Gillette AS a few weeks ago on a whim at Walmart. I completely agree with you it's underrated.
