    Good Wednesday morning all...

    Gillette Tech w/ Feather (3)
    Edwin Jagger BBB
    La Toja sensitive sc
    Thayers Original WH w/ aloe
    Floid vigoroso a/s
    Eau du Sud Edt

I am impressed with the lubricating and moisturizing qualities of the La Toja Sensitive. I was able to get three face passes and two head passes with lather to spare and I did not feel the need for any a/s balm. Great stuff...

Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (shave #3)
    Soap: Honeybee Spa Coconut
    Brush: Vulfix pure badger

I had forgotten how nice the Honeybee Spa soaps are. Fine shave this morning and the Ogallala A/S was the perfect finish.

Razor: Cooncat Bob Bull Mastiff with Merkur Head

    Brush: Penworks Best Badger
    Pre-Shave: Kell's Original Turkish Mocha Pre-shave Soap

The Tabac soap produced its usual magical lather and I enjoyed an irritation free BBS shave. The Mr. Taylor Splash was an excellent finish.

    Wednesday Morning:

Hot Shower/Proraso Glycerin Cleansing Bar/Hot Towel
    1966 Gillette TECH (Ball End)
    Feather Hi Stainless (Shave #2)
    Rooney Style 3 Super
    Fa Men Oceanic SC
    Skin Bracer Cooling Blue A/S
    Vaseline Intensive Rescue ML Lotion
    Preferred Stock

I had a lot of pros and cons with this shave. Pros: The Proraso Glycerin Cleansing bar did wonders for my prep. It added a decent amount of conditioning to my beard. Very nice. The TECH gave me a nice, gentle result. Not particularly close, but passable. Some days, that's all you can ask for. The Fa Men is another great cream from India. Great scent, great latherability. No complaints. Skin Bracer Cooling Blue and the Vaseline lotion made for a very nice finish. It's 5:00pm now and I'm not feeling any kind of dryness or tightness on my face. The lotion works folks. I guess my only real complaint is against the Feather blade. It was horrible. All of it's sharpness was gone on only it's second shave. Very disappointing. Everything else was pretty darn good though. Good day.

Wow, did not know Fa made SCs. Where'd you find that?

  15. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    scrubby old Rooney badger
    Kirby/Wilkinson(NOS)
    TGQ Leatherneck SS
    Lucky Tiger AS
    TGQ 'Leatherneck' extrait

I thought this blade would be better than the last type for this razor, but maybe not. I expected a more comfortable shave than I got, which is too bad. Oh well, this will go into my fatboy, so no harm done.

Oh, actually, there was some damage today. I gave myself a weird shaped little divot in a place I never cut myself. No chance for saving any cut, since it happened amazingly fast. Usually there's a warning before any potential problems, but not today. I blame it on me being careless and not respecting the razor quite enough.

This is by far the worst cut I've ever had from shaving.....heh, there's actually two divots very close together. I finally found a reason to open up the 'My Nick is Sealed' product, which I'd bought months ago. This thing works pretty darn well........better than the styptic pencil I normally use. The stuff's a liquid that rolls on, and man.......... it stings like crazy. Worked though.

Oh well, I guess I was due to see some blood actually dripping down my chin into the sink(I hated it). Heh, definitely not a weeper and it's gonna leave a mark for a couple days.

    Sigh........

    Martin.

JoAnna, the AS is too good for me to bother about the print on the label :D. It is the best smelling AS in my present collection.

I got mine from the Shoebox Shaveshop but TSD sells both scents as well. Very nice cream.

really? I have been really curious to pick a bottle up, because I love vanilla, but I was very unimpressed with the Pinaud Bay Rum, so I shied away from it. So it's worth giving a try?
