OMG, Pinaud Bay Rum is so good, as is Master's! Two cheap bay rums that happen to rock.

CO Bigelow's and Royall's are horrid.

Lucky Tiger puts out a very average one and I'm eager to try Superior 70...

    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Grey Flannel-AS

I don't know why I don't use this La Toja stick more often--it's absolutely fantastic. Plenty of rich lather, very moisturizing, and the scent really goes well with Grey Flannel. ;) :D

    Hot Shower
    NDC Gillette Tech (Bakelite Handle)
    Semogue 2000
    Williams Rose SS
    Dickinson's WH
    Corn Huskers Lotion
    Clubman Lilac Vegetal
Murray and Lanman's Lotus and Violets Cologne

Love this brush too. It looks like it may take a bit more breaking in than the 1305 but I really liked the girth and water/soap retention qualities of this brush. My homemade Williams Rose again did a fine job.

Merkur Futur @ 1.5 with a fresh Feather
    Shavemac 177 23mm
Geo F. Trumper Coconut Oil cream
    Proraso Aftershave Splash

Loaded up a fresh Feather in the Futur today. I got a decent shave, but I was being a bit careful and I still think 1.5 is just a tad mild. I'm going to try 1.75 tomorrow and see what kind of difference that makes.

    Thursday

Razor: Cooncat Bob Burl Handled Composite with Merkur Head
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge
    Brush: Shavemac
    Pre-Shave: Kell's Original Turkish Mocha Pre-shave Soap
    Soap: Cyril Salter
A/S: Musgo Real Classic Scent aftershave

This was my first time using Cyril Salter soap and I am very impressed. My Shavemac brush whipped up an abundance of nice creamy lavender scented lather (enough for 4 passes) and I enjoyed an irritation free BBS shave. Although you do not hear much about Cyril Salter soap, I would rank it right up there with other top tier English soaps at a fraction of the price. The Musgo Real provided an appropriate finish.

    Good Thursday morning all...

    E.J. Chatsworth w/ Gillette yellow (8?)
    Trumper superbadger
Gentleman's Quarter Bay Rum and orange ss
    Thayers Original WH w/ aloe
    Nivea extra soothing a/s balm
    Woods of Windsor Edt

I grabbed the Chatsworth without thinking (I had forgotten to change the blade) and ended up with a shave close to BBS with three passes. No irritation at all; the GQ soap is very pleasant and I'm not a Bay Rum fan. I like how it leaves my face feeling afterwards as well.

    Wednesday Morning:

Hot Shower/Proraso Glycerin Cleasning Bar/Hot Towel
    1955 Gillette Flare Tip SS
    Swedish Gillette (Shave #1)
    C&E BBB
    Omega SC
    Italian Floid A/S
    Vaseline IRML Lotion

Let it be known that this is only the second time in my entire life that I have shaved two days in a row. I didn't do it for any particular reason other than to just try it out and see how things went. Not bad. Face feels a little raw in some areas, but honestly, I expected worse. Perhaps my face isn't as sensitive as I thought. All components used in today's shave performed flawlessly. I was happy to be back using a Swede. Unparalleled sharpness and smoothness and to top it all off, I'll get at least 2 more shaves out of it. Take THAT, Feather! The Omega shave cream was very nice. Extremely similar to Proraso. In fact, I believe the only difference in formula is that the Omega has Lanolin in it. The Floid, as usual, provided a nice finish. Here's to a weekend of beard growth and horror movies. See you next week.

Day 4 of 3 Piece Week

    • Hot Shower
    • EJ Badger Brush
    • Prairie Creations - Almond Scented Tallow Soap
    • Hospital Brand 3 Piece Razor
    • Sharp Brand Blade - Day 1
    • Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe
    • Prairie Creations - Golden Aftershave Balm - Iced Lime

This is the second time I've used this razor and it seems to be a little too aggressive for my likings, the first time I thought maybe it was poor blade choice with a Derby, and set it aside for a month or so. Today I popped in a new Sharp blade and had same results, had a few weepers and skin ended up just a little too raw.
