Another crazy day, another quick shave...
    Merkur 23C/Feather
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Viking Fresh SC
    Cold water splash
    Tet-a-tet ASB.
I hate to shave on a run. But the result is a nice DFS, though... The Viking SC quickly climbs to the top favorites. Rare to find, but what a cream!

My shaves seem to be back to normal in terms of comfort because now I'm paying more attention to the blades I use. This Kool Frosty cream is from Bangladesh, and it's used in a lot of barbershops over there. The lather explodes in seconds, and it's so rich and thick, it has a good cooling sensation, (it's well named!) and it has pretty good skincare. I don't find the scent so great, but I can tolerate it. The 444 balsam and Barbon aftershave are a very nice end to a great shave like this one! ;) :D

    • Prep: Brush soaking in cold water, face wash with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser, luke warm shower
    • Razor: Merkur 500 Progress (Short Handle)
    • Blade: Perma-Sharp Super Stainless (1)
    • Brush: Semogue 1438 Boar
    • Soap: Tabac
    • AS: Canoe
    • Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave
I am taking a one day break from the Shake Sharp to do an Inaugural shave with the Merkur Progress (thanks Roger). I have never used a modern adjustable so I had no idea what to expect. Although I have read plenty about this razor, it is one thing to read, another to use.

I decided for the first pass I would use it fully open and I am sure glad that I did. I had so much stubble reduction from one pass I could have stopped, washed up my face and went to work with a closer shave than my coworkers. I felt my face for what was needed, which was not too much. I dialed it down to 3.5, did some light buffing on my neck and was done.

My first one and half pass BBS shave.

After some use now with the Canoe, I must say that I am disappointed. It is not that it smells bad, it just does not smell like the Canoe I remember from my youth. This new version smells very similar to Clubman, so for the price, I would rather purchase the industrial size bottle of Clubman.

Face Wash: Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash
Pre-Shave Lather: Dalan D'men Sensitive SC
    Pre-Shave: None
Shave Lather: Mystic Water - Rosalimone
    Razor: Merkur 38M
    Blade: SuperMax Super Platinum (3)
    Brush: Vulfix 660S Medium
Post: Witch Hazel/Vodka/Aloe/Glycerin mixture followed by GFT Coral Skin Food

I'm done with testing the SuperMax Super Plat in my 38M. It does a fine job, but not well enough that I'd buy a bunch. Now I'll test it in my Old Type.

Just a few more shaves left of my Rosalimone sample. I'm trying to decide if I knock that out now, our put it away until spring and keep concentrating on other soaps and cream I have, but have not used, yet.
