The star of the shave this morning was the Palmolive Classic Shave cream.. it’s a fantastic cream and it leaves a great slick residue. I live in a hard water too, which some creams and soaps i have struggled to achieve a good lather this is not the case with the humble Palmolive Classic...Superb stuff!:love055:

    Sunday morning:

    L’Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm
    Super Speed/Minora day 12
    Bundubeard Gentle Giant SS
    Nip Man ASB
    English Leather AS Splash

How can I neglect my dear friend Jaco’s great soaps for so long? His Gentle Giant smells so beautiful, it’s so easy to get terrific lather which is so thick, rich, and slick not to mention how soothing and skin friendly it is. The Nip Man balm’s minty scent and moisturizing as well as its cooling effect are awesome, and the English Leather is the first aftershave I used when I moved to Canada. This shave was so brilliantly BBS!

Have a good Sunday - be well and safe!

Sunday Schick shave, Oct 10th 2021- Reading a thread on speed shaving and tested my old system I use and it is amazing using a injector and just brush lather how fast and how great a shave can be accomplished in around 6 minutes and that is cleanup also.
I still prefer the 3 applications of lather with a brush but when in a hurry it is relevant.

Razor: Schick G type Canadian Variant, Mfg 1940's, very nice mid range, easy to manipulate and a joy to use this Injector.
Blade: Personna SS PTFE injector(4) excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock The Dead Sea : Very nice and unique scent with great lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm high mountain silvertip, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, great scrub + great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush(24mm Cashmere)wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock The Dead Sea AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion Balm.(excellent + scentless)
Results: CCS,DFS,BbS + no irritation + no weepers= [IMG] Excellent shave with my Schick G type variant + a Personna coated injector blade.

This morning I had a nice surprise; a Treet Platinum blade!

From my memory, the Treet Platinums were nothing special, though I cannot remember in which razor I tried them (probably a Fatip OC).

This morning, I put a Treet Platinum in my Mühle Rocca. My expectations were not high, but I had a very close and smooth shave! Certainly a blade to try again in different razors.

    Razor: Mühle Rocca R96
    Blade: Treet Platinum
    Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T3
    Soap: Tabac Original
    Aftershave: Nivea cream

1 pass + clean up. Excellent shave today. Only a minor raw spot on my neck that I don't even feel. Sangre de Drago smells amazing. I think the stuff is one of PAA's best scents overall. Only Atomic Age Bay Rum is better IMO.

I used to think Grove would be better in another season but I recently used Grove and I definitely think it's a Fall scent like PAA says. There is a muted, dull effect that puts the tartness of the cranberry in check and to borrow a visual reference, it's like the color on a TV is turned down to almost gray tones. That's how the scent is dialed in. And that makes me think of Fall. Like the sun's power is fading. Grove is a bit of an underrated scent. I'm not saying it's some 10/10 scent, but there is some craftsmanship to it that bears respect. I think it's a fine one to have in the den as a seasonal Fall number.

The scent note that stands out to my nose is the apricot which opens this up for spring use as well.

Right. PAA utilizes Apricot very effectively in a number of their scents. I love the Apricot in Big Shave East (an almost 'forgotten' gem of theirs). I have "Monstroso" shipping to me now and that one has an Apricot note in it, but I have not smelled it yet. I expect it will be quite good.
