    SATURDAY'S SHAVE

    Perfumed by:

Shampoo - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Monstroso"
Bath Soap - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Monstroso"
Razor - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Starling V2"
Blade - Personna GEM Stainless Steel Coated *Fresh Blade
Brush - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Green Ray" *Faux Horse Hair
Deodorant - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Scentless"
Post-Shave Balm - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Mysterium Serum"
Shaving Soap & Aftershave/Cologne - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Monstroso"

**EDIT - 3 days of growth and the Starling V2 with a fresh blade knocked the growth down quite easily. More easily than I anticipated. I was considering going to my GEM razor, which is my favorite for tackling multi-day growth. The Starling's super-light weight requires a sharp blade. I bit more pressure is needed, and the Starling got it done. 1 pass + spot-clean up. I didn't need to work very hard. A with-the-grain pass sheered off the growth very easily. I was already BBS in some portions of my neck and cheeks. I was able to carve out the beard lines on my cheeks very easily. I applied more lather to my face then engaged in a "feel-and-swipe" clean up pass. I only needed additional blade work in stubborn spots against the grain. I got a nice, BBS result. I followed up the shave/splash with PAA's Mysterium Serum balm, then splashed on another helping of the aftershave/cologne.

I just seem to think my skin feels more soft after shaving down multi-day growth. It's just so smooth and clean. It's what shaving is all about. Feels great. The Monstroso scent is quite good. It's got a dull, greenness to it. Like what fruit would smell like to the nose if you turned down the color to a faded tone on a television. The vetiver seems to directly compete with the fruit. It's got a very "Fall" season tone to it. I like it.

A question if I may: is that Seaforth a hard soap or a croap?
Thanks in advance for your response.

Not triple milled but I would call it a hard soap. Must push hard with finger to get a small imprint.

    Saturday morning’s Grand Freeze:

    Stirling Mentholated Pre Shave Soap
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Minora day 11
Bundubeard Cool As A Cucumber X 3 SS
    Prep ASB
    Osage Rub AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
    Bleu de Chanel EdP

My man Jaco is another soap genius - in fact I think he makes the best glycerine soaps. This X 3 version of Cool As A Cucumber has a very interesting but nice scent - it’s not a straight up cucumber but more of a mix of peppermint and cucumber, the lather is very thick, rich, as well as quite slick, the menthol effect is so intense that it’s comparable to any of the Stirling Glacials, and the skincare is excellent. The Prep and the Osage Rub kept the soothing going along with lots of loving frigidity. The Minora blade is still alive and kicking - day 11 but it still helped me get an easy and wonderful BBS shave!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and safe!

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 23, 2021

This morning’s shave was quick and efficient. The F. Herder 49 15/16 made quick work of my mug whiskers. Two passes with some final buffing and flatblading cleaned up my neck nicely leaving me quite smooth. The MrEE Monster Tuxedo Synth has great backbone and works beautifully in accompaniment with my favorite MWF. The lather felt good on my face, and even better on my dome. The Gillette Fatboy’s bulky TTO head design only works well for me when wide open. Two ATG passes noggin passes left me more than acceptably smooth from dome to shoulders.

RAZOR: F. Herder 49 15/16 (Mug), Gillette Fatboy (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Monster Aluminum Handled Tuxedo Synth
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with PAA Rabid Banana AS Balm.

After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Very nice luxury Saturday morning shave with the Rex Ambassador. Sea Spice Lime is something special. Have not used Shark blades in a while. The Super Chrome was suprisingly smooth. Excellent BBS luxury shave.
