Friday Shave

My Feather AS-D2 has been neglected for a very long time, so I'm giving some attention. I used it extensively in the past with Feather blades, but I always felt irritation from them. Two days ago I decided to get back on that horse -- perhaps my technique has improved, and I would find great delight with a Feather blade. That two pass shave was satisfactory, but a few hours later, my face felt irritated, just like the past, so I applied some PAA Mysterium Serum, which I have found is great for soothing an irritated face, then I skipped a day on my shave. This morning I tried a different blade, the Tatra Platinum, that is my favorite in the mild Henson AL13. The Tatra blade was certainly smoother and more comfortable than the Feather blade, but the closeness was not satisfactory. I had to do a full third pass against the grain to get a reasonable DFS result. Next blade will be Personna Platinum (German), which to me is more comfortable than a Feather, but not quite as sharp.

Razor: FaTip Grande (Face) - Bolzano Superinox Inossidable. (D1)

Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend. Carrying on with the OC-tober focus with the FaTip Grande which paired together with the Bolzano SI superbly.
Both the FaTip Grande & Parker InjRzr performed wonderfully.

One thing i find with the Bolzano SI like a lot of DE blades it feels smoother & performs better on the second pass. However, this could have been down to me familiarizing myself with the blade again after another long hiatus of not using them. Their sharpness is near to the Feather Hi stainless with a smooth edge.

A very close comfortable face & head shave with errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.

The Palmolive Shave Cream lathered well with the Jayaruh #277 Silvertip Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Supply SE Injector and the Supply Black Label Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Sensitive 5 in 1 AS Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

In my opinion this new version of Old Spice is an insult to the brand. I don’t know why I even bother keeping it.

Do I ever love Fernando’s soaps - his Frosted Bay Rum has the most gorgeous bay rum scent I ever experienced, the tallow formula promotes such thick, rich, mega slick and protective lather, the menthol sensation is icy cold, and the skincare is perfect. The Prep and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave are a delightful combination. Finally the Aqua di Selva cologne gave me its beautiful old school Italian scent that I love so much. Three passes left me ultra BBS - another dynamite shave!
