    Thursday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    Proraso Red Sandalwood
    Jayaruh #371 Badger
    Gillette US Army Old Type
    Astra SP
    CWR
    Humphrey's Witch Hazel

The Proraso Red Sandalwood Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #371 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette US Army Old Type and the Astra SP Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Thursday morning:

    Hot shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Wilkinson Sword day 9
    Pascale SC
    Nivea Cool Kick ASB
    Aqua Velva Sport AS Sport

No pics today and just a quick two pass shave that turned out really good because I was in a big rush. The Pascale cream is from Bulgaria and it’s got a nice scent which is cologney with a minty note, the lather whips up so easily, there’s a mild menthol sensation from it, and the skincare is very good. The Cool Kick balm felt so good on my skin although I can’t stand the scent, and the Aqua Velva Sport aftershave went on icy cold along with its beautiful scent that I love. Yesterday was Yom Kippur so I couldn’t shave so today I had to really struggle to get all that rough stubble off. I would call this shave a DFS+.

    Be well and safe

I had another great shave today with my Red Tip Gillette (1956). Throw-back Thursday! I hope I nailed it!

    Razor - Gillette Red Tip
    Blade - Gillette Wilkinson Sword
    Pre-shave - Proraso Red
Shave soap - MWF (getting down to the unscented puck underneath)
    Brush - Simpson T2 Trafalgar
Post-shave - Thayers toner "Lavender"& Geo F Trumper "Skin Food" balm
    AS - Pinaud Clubman

Showered while the bowl and brush warmed with HOT water. Hot washcloth to the face to really warm it! Theo watched the whole shave. The Red Tip may be considered a more aggressive razor but, it did me very nice today. Pleasant. Weight of the razor! Ride the cap! I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG. I did manage to nick my jawline just as I was finishing! Alum bar was mostly silent. I just hadta try to geta bit of missed stubble on the right jawline and it bit me! Alum stopped it. I could feel it when it happened too!

    Williams Wednesday Shave on Thursday

    Lather: vintage Williams Mug Soap
    Brush: Mohawk
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE 89
    Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium
    Post: witch hazel

I had planned on a shave yesterday but didn't get around it, so Williams soap today! My DE89 has been neglected for a long time, which is too bad: it gave me a smooth and comfortable shave, and I always loved the looks of this razor.

My late kitty used to watch my shaves every morning. I had a cat bed on the bathroom counter, and he would go up there and watch me, sometimes getting some lather on his black fur.

I also have a 1956 Gillette red tip, that I enjoy. That's my birth year, so I have the red tip, the chrome flair tip, and the blue tip. I tend to favor milder razors, but of those three, I enjoy the red tip the most. It doesn't feel aggressive at all to me.

You nailed it, although I didn't see a history of the MWF and Clubman to prove it WAS Throwback Thursday. Aahhh, you get off scot free.
