These Wilkinson Sword blades are actually pretty damned good even if I say so myself. They’re a bit more aggressive than my Astra Greens but they’re nowhere near as murderous to me as the Feathers. My dear brother Fernando’s Peppermint Lime soap and aftershave are two treasures - the scent is lovely - the lime seems to dominate but you can still catch the peppermint, the soap is tallow based, it lathers beautifully, it’s so slick, there’s a ton of menthol in it, and it gives a most comfortable postshave feeling. The Gold Bond moisturizer gave me great soothing as well as lots of cooling, and the Peppermint Lime aftershave went on icy cold but with no stinging or burning because it’s witch hazel based. Finally the delightful Eau Sauvage fragrance and my day is off to a great start. Three swift passes gave me a most enjoyable BBS shave!

Here my belated Wednesday Shave (23.10.2024)


Razor: DOVO Primo 2 // Blade: Gillette green // Soap: Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood // Brush: RazoRock 400 // Aftershave: Witch Hazel - Geo.F. Trumper Sandalwood Skinfood

It was a good shave. Smooth, gentle and i enjoyed it a lot.

Used the Primo 2 with a green Gillette which was not THE best pairing. The blade felt not as smooth and gentle as my trusted Gillette Platinum. It was not a bad shave in any means, but the blade is on a lower sharpness and smoothness level.

Nevertheless the shave was done in 2,5 passes. The soap performed outstanding again and this scent…oooooh man this scent…absolutely wonderful. Great great lather with tons of cushion and slickness.

A 9 out of 10

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick Stick Injector Razor and the Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Duru Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SE SOTD, Friday, OCtober 25th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SE 316 SSP + a Yaqi Chippendale(Darwin looking)316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range.
Excellent machining + finish with a simple clamping system.
Blade : Kai CTMP (3) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity in this razor. Top Tier.
Soap : Yaqi The Green, Very addictive natural scent of a spring forest with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Lucky dice" 26mm brown whiskers brown whiskers fan knot. One of my favorite 26mm synthetic brushes
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi The Green splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Romulus SE razor with KAI CTMP blade. Excellent shave this morning.
