Great choice of soap, I like the scent of the Santa Maria del Fiore slightly more than the splash but great bargain regardless.

Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation Mellon head 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP(Similar to Darwin razor handle). Mfg 2023>, mid range. Excellent machining , finish + design for a very affordable elegant razor with the Chippendale handle that were all bought on sale. I just really enjoy the audio feedback on this head (sizzling sound of whiskers being snipped[IMG]). Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Personna red (5) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Top tier placement on my den pile of blades.
Soap : La Toja stick, very mild scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia" 22mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, very nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. For a small brush it performs very well and was a good purchase 2 years ago and has put many a smile on this face when used. I have been to the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Spain and it brings back some good holiday thoughts.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave Nivea Ever refreshing lotion: + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 10 stellar.jpg or Nivea Ever refreshing splash CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon 316 SSP razor with a Personna Red blade.

Thanks for your post. I like your setup. I have the British Leather, but I didn't have to grow to like it. I liked it immediately. I plan to use it this coming week.

Here's another situatiomn where two different artisans have a product with the same name-Trade Winds(Moon and Chiseled Face.). The other name used is Absolute Zero, (from Bill Neumann and the one enjoyed by the Israeli Ambaasador to TSD).

    Friday morning:

    King C. Gillette Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 AM day 14
    Bundubeard Impi SS
    Bundubeard Boomslang 1 ASB
    Brut AS Splash

These 7 AMs are such fantastic blades - they’re very sharp, smooth as well as forgiving, and they have excellent longevity against my tough beard stubble. My dear brother Jaco’s Impi soap has a really nice coffee/fruity scent, it’s glycerine based, it gives terrific lather with lots of slickness, it’s fairly mentholated, and it’s so good in the skincare department. The Boomslang 1 balm is another great Bundubeard creation with LOTS of moisturizing and soothing, it has a bit of a menthol touch, and it smells so much like Brut. Finally the Brut aftershave which matches the Boomslang balm perfectly. Smooth as a baby’s little tukhis after three passes - what a brilliant shave this was. Soon I’m off to the synagogue to participate in the morning services and to hear the Shofar.

Enjoy the weekend - be well and stay safe![IMG]

I've known James Riley's OSP soaps from it's Inception. I was one of the first testers. So when James first introduced his first Spice Road prototype, it was honestly, the best Old Spice clone I'd ever tried. In fact I still have a small amount of the original prototype, which I use very rarely.
The commercial Spice Road which James released is the one I used isn't the same as the prototype, as he used a different essential oil blend, hence not as close to Old Spice. Even though it's very nice.
I've not tried Old Gold. So can't compare.

Thanks for that info....looks like I'll have to try the Old Spice clone I don't have. Sounds like it's a better clone than Old Gold.

Unfortunately Paul, James made the Spice Road prototype for testing only. He never released that formula commercially.
