    With use the bristles will develop split-ends, and that softens it. I don't know how the brush makers do it, but in recent years they're doing something that shortens the break-in time by a lot. I have a Zenith 507-Boar. It's a large knot, 27.5 with a 57mm loft. It has a kind of a large blue handle. It's a great brush.

    The Williams Mug Shave Soap was face-lathered well with Jayaruh #188 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette New Improved Razor (1921) and the Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Lilac Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Wednesday morning:

    Warm shower
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 5
    RVT Frosty Bay Rum SS
    Prep ASB
    Pinaud Bay Rum AS Splash

    Wow, it’s been a LONG time since I used this Frosty Bay Rum soap from River Valley Trading in Durban, South Africa so I decided to pull it out for today’s shave. It’s vegan based, it has a lovely bay rum scent, it delivers great lather with a nice middle of the road menthol sensation as well as a very comfortable postshave feeling. The Prep gave me so much soothing and moisturizing while the Pinaud Bay Rum aftershave went on with a brief sting but then it felt nice and cooling. Another super duper three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely!

    Thank you. I can't seem to find them on their website.

    I sourced mine from alphabetsoup2013 on the bay, bit pricey, but I got a discount for multiple items. Large supply of anything with an edge by the looks of it.

    Soap: Tabac
    After: Tabac
    Balm: Tabac

    And I added a Tabac fragrance afterwards just to max it out ;)

    2 Days growth

    Cream/Soap = TOBS OUD
    Brush = Old Vulfix
    Bowl = white plastic
    Razor = Gillette No 15
    Blade = Henckels day 3, all good
    Passes = 3 lazy and very enjoyable passes to start my day off
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
    ASB = TOBS Royal Forest
    ASL = Proraso with Oud
    Scent = Oud Malak

    Fantastic solid shaver, TTO mechanism is nice and solid. The pitting on the cap, although significant to look at, made no difference due to the super slick almost runny lather
